When did it begin?
When was it that I decided to be a man who leads?
For as long as I've known, being the hero was something I always wanted, the look on people's faces as I'd swoop down to save them, just the thought of that was enough to make me want to do it, so I did, gave money to the poor, helped old people cross the road…I, a beacon of hope to the people that needed me.
But I also wanted to be respected and feared, to be talked about behind my back, as "the man", or "him", someone whose sense of morals defies those who deem their morals right.
Where I am considered the villain even if what I fight for is justifiably the right thing, a vision known to only those who stood by me.
All these were just dreams, wishes, I knew all too well, the title of a hero wasn't mine for the keeping, my light didn't shine too bright for me to be considered one.
And I couldn't be a villain, I know I'm not heartless, regardless of the situation, when I find someone worthy to be saved, I will help, a painful reality I still deny till this day.
And so… I concluded…
If I couldn't be a hero, and not the villain either, I'll be what I wished to be, and do what I deemed to be right….
If I save a select few from the harsh reality they live in, I'll be a hero to them, someone they could look up to and smile, knowing they are safe as long as I'm with them.
But I'll be considered a villain to the masses who view the path I have chosen to save the select view… wrong.
That is why, I swore to every member of the Black Haven, they will have the life they wish, one that gives them the happiness they want, a life separate from one that is withheld as my servants.
And the same goes to me.
I'm currently 15 years old and at the Everstain academy, it is quite big, I can't wrap my head around how schools like this are this huge.
Anyway, I took the entrance exam two weeks back, the questions were not what I expected, in one word, "Mid", nothing there was considered tough.
I could easily get a 100 marks and not even break a sweat, but that would mean extra work for me, I know how these things go, so I made sure I got a bit above 50, for a good average student.
Standing in front of the scoreboard, I was in my uniform, red jacket, black trousers and black shirt. I believe this uniform was for the freshers.
"No 24."
I looked at my ranking, nice, I'm not in the top ten so there shouldn't be any problem, I don't exactly plan to take this academy thing seriously. The black haven has gathered too many enemies for me to even take a break in an academy.
Sigh!
I remember now, I promised to check up on them today, I guess it won't hurt to get a look at their progress so far, especially considering they have new members that I haven't gifted a name.
"Hey! Brat! What do you think you're doing?! Uhn?!"
I took a side glance to my left , where I could see a boy roughly the same age as me wearing the academy uniform, the only difference was his had white designs.
He had just punched a girl, I guess she bumped into him or something, either way he seemed to have caused a scene with that one, students already gathered around him.
"Speak you idiot! Or did you bite your tongue!!!" The male student yelled, grabbing the girl by the head.
As soon as he pulled her up, a loud gasp surfaced in the crowd, at first I was confused as to why, that was until I noticed her head, she had a small horn, which means she's a devil.
Sigh!
So the hatred for demons still takes place in this academy, you'd think the student body would do something about it.
"I'm sorry…" The devil girl spoke back, trying to free herself from the grip of the boy.
"Uhn?! What was that, I didn't quite hear you!" The boy pulled her hair even more violently, before kicking her in the stomach.
"Go on, speak up! Speak!" The boy yelled while the girl was coughing, struggling to speak, and his friends were just laughing as they watched.
The people who seemed worried at first began to walk away, ignoring the matter the moment they found out she was a devil.
I looked to the building roof to my left, and there I could see Aniel, hiding but at the same time keeping watch over me.
Times like this, I tend to avoid getting involved in problems, especially when I'm not role playing as Chaos, but this is an exception….
I picked the small stone on the floor,
We are dealing with demons, and my promise to my followers was to free demons from the oppression of the world.
And I tend to do just that….
Just when I was about to send the stone flying towards the student, I heard a voice, and it had so much authority they immediately halted their attack on the Devil girl.
"Fighting on school grounds without both parties' consent is against school rules… Mr Salove Gravotrez."
The girl spoke, walking towards the scene, the crowd immediately parting a path for her to make her way.
She had long black hair and a beautiful face, her uniform, just the same as the other moron, was a white skirt and top with a red jacket and black tights under.
"W-what are you doing here?" The male student asked, releasing his grip on the devil's hair.
"I believe I just said it… no fighting on school grounds without the other person's consent… as student council president, I won't allow it." The girl spoke again.
"You Richardsons are always getting in my way, don't worry, Ava, I'll get back at you and you better believe it." The male student spoke before walking away, his gang following behind him.
I wasn't paying much attention to whatever they were saying, but one word managed to catch my attention…
"Ava".
