Chapter 3 - Rebirth.

In a surreal and ethereal vision, Xavier found himself suspended in the vastness of space, surrounded by the infinite expanse of stars and galaxies. The universe unfolded before him in all its majestic splendor, a cosmic tapestry of light and wonder.

As he gazed in awe at the cosmic panorama, a bluish-white nebula began to take shape, coalescing into the form of a magnificent creature, the Cosmic Phoenix.

This celestial being was a sight to behold, its body composed of swirling nebula gasses that shimmered with the colors of a thousand galaxies. Within its form, countless stars sparkled like diamonds in the cosmic night, their light creating a breathtaking display of celestial beauty.

The Cosmic Phoenix's wings unfurled, stretching across the cosmos, and its eyes, twin orbs of radiant energy, fixed upon Xavier. Its presence was both awe-inspiring and comforting, like the embrace of the universe itself.

"Fuck my Life. I'm not even allowed to rest peacefully?" Xavier complained. "Who the fuck did I offend in my past life?"

Xavier just couldn't help but complain. All his life has been filled with struggles and tragedy after tragedy, he expected the heavens would be kind enough to let him rest after the tough life he has lived, but it seems the universe has another plan for him.

What now? Burn his soul to Oblivion?

Summoning his courage, he addressed the magnificent celestial being before him. "Great Beast of the heavens," he began, his voice a mere whisper in the vastness of the cosmic expanse, "where am I? How did I come to be in this place?"

The Cosmic Phoenix regarded him with eyes that seemed to hold the very secrets of the universe. Time itself seemed to pause as it considered Xavier's question. Then, in a voice that resonated with the echoes of galaxies, it responded, "You find yourself in a realm that exists in the liminal space between the living and the dead, a place beyond mortal comprehension."

Xavier's eyes widened in disbelief, his heart quickening as he struggled to process the weight of those words. "Am I... am I not dead?" he managed to utter, his voice trembling with uncertainty.

The Cosmic Phoenix inclined its majestic head, its form shimmering like a cosmic aurora. "Yes but no," it declared, "your soul has crossed the threshold from the realm of the living into this intermediary existence. It is yet to complete the requirements to be deemed dead."

Xavier's world seemed to tilt on its axis as he grappled with the profound revelation. He felt a sense of detachment from everything he had known. Soon memories of his final moments raced into his mind and he finally mustered the courage to ask the inevitable question, "How did this happen? Why am I here?"

The Cosmic Phoenix regarded him with a gaze that held a hint of enigmatic amusement. "You can thank me for that," it replied, its voice carrying a weight of cosmic irony. "For it is I who chose to bring you to this realm, to impart upon you a destiny that transcends the boundaries of life and death."

Xavier felt a profound sense of confusion wash through him upon hearing this. Of all the people to be granted a destiny worthy of legend, he was certain he would not even make the top ten thousand on that list. Is his luck finally turning up?

In a voice that resonated with the harmony of the cosmos, the Cosmic Phoenix spoke to Xavier. "You have been selected to inherit my power, to become the savior of the realm."

Xavier's heart raced as he grappled with the revelation that he was here in this otherworldly realm, suspended between the living and the dead. From nobody to someone chosen to save the world. All this sounded like the intro to the life of a hero.

Summoning his courage, he turned to the Cosmic Phoenix and asked the burning question that had been gnawing at him since he arrived. "Why me?" he implored, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. "Why have you chosen me as your successor?"

The Cosmic Phoenix, its presence as vast as the cosmos itself,

Xavier's brow furrowed in confusion. "Then why am I here?" he pressed on.

The Cosmic Phoenix, seemingly amused by Xavier's persistence, leaned closer. Its eyes, twin orbs of cosmic brilliance, bore into him. "Pity," it declared, its voice resonating like the chords of a cosmic symphony. "You are here out of cosmic pity, a twist of fate that has allowed you to tread this realm."

Before Xavier could react or pose another question, the Cosmic Phoenix unfurled its majestic wings, and a fiery shockwave erupted from its form. The force of the explosion sent Xavier hurtling backward, through a swirling vortex of cosmic energies.

As he tumbled through the astral currents, Xavier felt a profound sense of disorientation and loss. The answers he sought didn't come, instead, he was insulted.

'Have my life become so tragic that even the heavens have to get involved?' Xavier cried in his heart

In the blink of an eye, the illusionary world dissolved around him, and he found himself back in the realm he had known before.

In the wake of his expulsion from the cosmic realm and back into the world of the living, Xavier found himself in a state of disarray. He felt like a leaf caught in a cosmic whirlwind, his thoughts fragmented and his body weightless. The memory of his encounter with the Cosmic Phoenix lingered in his mind.

But then, as he descended through the void, something extraordinary began to happen. It started as a faint warmth in his chest, a gentle fluttering like the stirrings of a long-dormant ember. Xavier's senses were heightened, and he felt a connection to the very essence of life itself.

As he descended closer to the earthly realm, the warmth within him grew more intense, spreading like wildfire through his being. Flames of vitality and energy surged through his veins, and he felt a power building within him that defied explanation.

Just as he touched the threshold between the cosmic and earthly realms, a blinding burst of light erupted from his very core.

Buzz.

Xavier felt his entire being engulfed in this blazing inferno, and for a moment, he was one with the cosmic forces that had brought him to this point. It

In a burst of radiant energy, he emerged from the fiery whirlwind, his form reborn and revitalized. His clothes, once tattered and worn, were now pristine and vibrant, shimmering with the hues of the cosmic flames that had consumed him.

Xavier hovered in the air for a moment, suspended in a state of pure transcendence. He could feel the power of the cosmos coursing through him, an energy that defied the limitations of mortal existence.

Thud.

Then, with a graceful descent, he touched down on the earthly realm, his feet making contact with the solid ground.
