KARA'S POV
When Eleanor and I returned to the estate later that evening after the first day of our activities, I went straight to my room and got ready for the night.
Aldric and Duke Avon came home a little later in the night in time for dinner. After dinner and we retired for the night I noticed Aldric's mood was off. He seemed more angry than usual. I knew it had something to do with the protests. It's clear dealing with them was already taking a toll on him.
I remembered the protesting crowd Eleanor and I had seen earlier from the carriage. The knights were shoving the civilians, their swords drawn out, and using violence against them. I couldn't see much from the distance, but I knew some of the protesting commoners were being killed. From the book that's what happened during the protests many of them were killed.
