Chapter 4 - Chapter 04: Nightfall Conversations and Maternal Care

**Chapter 4: Nightfall Conversations and Maternal Care**

The dorm room was bathed in the soft glow of lamplight as Ahmad, Tyrone, Xavier, and Olivia gathered after a long day of classes. The night's serenity was pierced only by the hum of laughter and companionship.

Ahmad reclined on his bed, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, while Tyrone methodically organized his law notes. Xavier, with a mischievous grin, couldn't resist sharing stories of his recent escapades with the ladies.

"Ahmad, my man, you wouldn't believe what happened at the campus cafe the other day," Xavier declared with a playful wink.

Tyrone looked up from his notes, skeptical. "Xavier, every time you spin a tale, it sounds like something out of a movie."

Ahmad couldn't help but join in the fun. "Spill it, Xavier. What happened this time?"

Xavier regaled them with stories of his recent encounters, weaving tales of chance meetings, laughter, and charm. Ahmad and Olivia listened with a mix of amusement and disbelief, while Tyrone raised an eyebrow, unconvinced.

"Xavier, are you sure any of this actually happened?" Tyrone challenged.

Xavier chuckled, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Tyrone, my friend, you underestimate the charm of Xavier McHood."

As the laughter and banter continued, Ahmad's phone rang, its gentle chime piercing the merriment. He glanced at the caller ID and smiled warmly.

"Ah, it's my mother," he informed his friends as he answered the call.

"Hey, Mom," Ahmad greeted with a warm tone.

Jiddat Rashad's voice, filled with maternal warmth, flowed through the phone. "How was your day, Ahmad? Are you taking care of yourself? Have you been eating properly?"

Ahmad's friends listened intently, and Tyrone couldn't help but smile at the genuine concern in Jiddat's voice.

"Mom, I'm fine," Ahmad reassured her. "My friends here are making sure I don't starve, don't worry."

"Good, good," Jiddat replied. "You know I worry, Ahmad. And how are your friends? Are they treating you well?"

Ahmad turned to his friends and grinned. "Mom, they're treating me great. Tyrone is the law expert, Xavier has some unbelievable stories, and Olivia keeps us all in line."

A chorus of hellos and greetings from his friends echoed in the background, and Ahmad's mother chuckled on the other end. "I'm glad to hear that, Ahmad. You know you have my blessings in everything you do."

As the conversation continued, the bond between mother and son remained evident, the distance between them bridged by love and care. Amidst the laughter and stories in the dorm room, Ahmad knew that he was never far from the warmth of his mother's love and the support of his friends.
