Third person POV
Later, at 10:55 a.m., Akira and Hachi had arrived at Tokyo's big station, and they get off the train and onto one of the platforms, before proceeding to leave the station via the ticket gates. Luckily, Hachi bought a train card the day before he and Akira left Okutama. Not long after, they both left the station and went to a parking lot adjacent to a nearby building, where Toshi was waiting for them. Akira was told by Toshi to meet up with him at a parking lot near a building not too far from the station. He and Hachi did so, and they meet up with Toshi, who was leaning against one of the car doors in anticipating for their arrival.
"Oh, there you two are," Toshi said to them.
"Hi, there, Toshi-san," Akira greeted positively with a bow. "Good morning."
Hachi was wearing a black button-up shirt with short sleeves, red and black pants, and black and white sneakers.
Akira, meanwhile, wears a blue and purple collared shirt with an emblem of the Philippine flag embroided on one side in the front, dark brown pants, and dark blue and dark green shoes with white shoelaces.
"Nice clothes you have, Akira-kun," Toshi commented Akira's clothes. "It suits you well."
To that Akira looked at his clothes, then back at Toshi. "You think so?"
"It's your identity, right?" Toshi replied with a smile. "You should be proud of it."
Toshi has natural blond hair with a hint of red ginger color and blue eyes.
"Yeah, he is," Hachi responded. "So, I see you two brought your stuff. Shall we stop at my house so you two could unpack and rest before the job interview?"
Eventually, the two youngsters agreed, and they all hopped into Toshi's car and left the parking lot and to Toshi's house.
But, meanwhile, a man with a fedora hat was actually spying on them the whole time. He then reported his findings to his boss via a phone call. His boss, the main leader of the Kara Tech, then told him that he should continue on spying on them. That man did so and went into his own car and started to follow Toshi's car. Akira and Hachi were unaware of this.
Later, at 11:29 a.m., after some traffic, the three arrived at Toshi's house, and Toshi parked his car in the driveway. After that, they all get off while carrying the two youngsters' belongings. They then entered the house via the front door, which was locked by Toshi before he left to go anywhere, and Akira and Hachi settled at the living room while Toshi carries their stuff to the same room as before.
Once that was done, Toshi returned downstairs to get some glasses for Akira and Hachi. Upon seeing those refreshments, Akira and Hachi sat straight on the sofa and accepted them because they are thirsty. After that, Toshi put the tray on the coffee table and sat down on his personal armchair.
"So, are you here for a summer job, right?" he asked.
Hearing that, Akira and Hachi finished drinking and looked at him.
"Uh, yes, Toshi-san," Akira replied back.
"What motivates you to do this?"
"It's the death of my best friend, Hashi."
Upon hearing that name, Hachi felt uncomfortable by it then because Hashi was his maternal cousin.
But, he couldn't reveal that to his friend and adoptive brother.
Upon noticing that strange behavior, Akira turned towards him and asked, "Are you okay, Hachi-kun?"
Hachi then snapped out of it. "Y-Yes, I'm fine, Akira-kun."
Luckily for Hachi, Akira was not suspicious of him.
"I see," Toshi said to Akira, "I guess the death of a loved one is a motivation for a person to seek revenge by joining forces with the authorities."
"Yeah, I was," Akira admitted awkwardly.
"Okay then, your job interview will be at 1:30 in the afternoon," Toshi responded. "I already did some research about the both of you and filled your job application."
"Oh, okay, thanks," Akira replied with gratitude.
"Masashi-san will be asking both of you questions. Is that okay?" Toshi responded.
"How about our clothes?" Hachi asked.
"They looked fine enough. In fact, my agency advocates for moderate diversity in appearances. So that means minimum dress codes and no pressure on going out for drinks after work."
Hearing those, Akira and Hachi felt being welcomed, with Akira, having known the work culture of Japan in history and via research, agreeing to those advocacies.
Later, at 1 in the afternoon, after lunch, they and Toshi left to go to the Shibata Supernatural Agency by train because Toshi only uses his car for long-distance traveling. The train line they took is the Hibiya Line. At the same, the same man from Kara Tech was following their tracks. Not long after, they arrived at Hatchobori station at 1:15 p.m., and Akira, Hachi, and Toshi get off the train and left the station and towards the agency on foot. Upon arriving there, they all entered the lobby, causing the receptionist to greet, "Good afternoon, Toshi-san." She did this with a deep bow.
"Good afternoon," Toshi responded back to her, "I'm here because my two friends are here for a job interview. Is their interview was scheduled 1:30 in the afternoon?"
To that the receptionist looked at the pages of her planner agenda, before quickly finding it scheduled at the said time and in red ink. She then glanced at Toshi. "Yes, they may wait outside of the president's office."
"Thank you so much," Toshi replied.
He then looked at Akira and Hachi. "You two, come with me."
They did so without any hesitation, and went with Toshi to the fourth floor via an elevator.
