Chapter 33 - Trevor?

Trevor POV:

Trevor felt such Intense heat he could barely regain his senses after being forcefully teleported. Once he did he looked up only to see magma swirling, flames spouting high into the air and the crackling and popping of stone sliding away into the river of magma.

Trevor stood alone on a circle of stone that sat perfectly between a split stream of lava. Eroding the edges slowly and shrinking his small standing stone. There was simply no where else to go as an endless river of lava flows on either side of him, only in the distance mountainous volcanos could be seen.

"What the hell!?" Trevor shouts trying to figure out what happened to him.

'Trevor, your dragon bloodline trial begins now. Survive.' Echoed in Trevor's head.

"Survive? How!? I'm surrounded by magma!? My affinity is earth magic!"

A booming deep voice of an ancient beast echoed from the top of a distant volcano. "You will find a way to survive or you will perish without your awakening."

"Fine, bring it on then!" Trevor smirked. "DRAGONS, LEND MY THY STRENGTH!"

Trevor flared up his aura, invoking as much earth magic as he possibly could to strengthen and extend the stone he stood on. With the lava slowly melting away the edges taking back more and more of his platform he worked quickly to shore up his defense, creating a wedge of stone out in front of the platform to help push the flowing magma away from his position.

Several minutes past by like this with Trevor protecting the little platform he stood on the best he could using his earth magic.

The relentless heat emanating from the lava below lapped at the edges of the small stone platform, hungry for more ground to consume. The platform, once sturdy and big enough for Trevor to take a step in each direction, was constantly being shrunk despite his efforts. Eventually, the solid stone beneath Trevor's feet began to crumble and break apart due to the relentless force of the magma stream.

The stone, began to be riddled with cracks, quickly losing its structural integrity. Pockets of air hissed and sizzled as they escaped through cracks, creating a horrifying yet motivating series of pops and snaps underneath Trevor's feet.

Trevor was faced with the imminent threat of the platform's collapse, he had to change, he had to try something else.

'What else can I do? I'm running out of mana!'

"Hey dragon! How much longer!?"

Flames manifested a short way in front of Trevor displaying a fiery timer, 15:00.

"Fifteen more minutes!? What! I'm so dead!"

The scent of burning rock filled the air, blending with the stifling heat that surrounded the platform that barely held back against the flowing lava now.

With the rivers of lava slamming in from either side of his now tiny platform, Trevor had a final spark of determination.

Looking into the deepest parts of his aura he tried to identify his dormant Draconic bloodline. Trevor, was unraveling and undiscovering a strange new feeling within his aura. After a few moments of struggle and barely any space remaining for him to stand on one foot on the stone platform, he had a profound realization as he felt the true power of his blood line. Dragon blood flowed within him, granting him the ancient draconic ability to transmute the mana surrounding him.

In this final moment before he was engulfed Trevor trudged up the very depths of his magic, and the stone around him responded to his newfound awakening of draconic blood.

As the molten lava inched close, he channeled his aura, shaping the stone into an indestructible pilar of metal, rising above the flow of the river Trevor stood on a magnificent manifestation of his bloodline awakening.

Everything around Trevor, even some of the lava near the platform was drawn in to be forged by his magic into a gleaming, metallic surface that stood firm against the flowing magma. The air crackled with mana as Trevor willed the fusion of earth and magma and metal materialized.

Trevor marveled at the new height of his abilities, the power to shape earth into metal not only saved him from the lava river, but also opened new possibilities, showing Trevor the depths of his mastery of earth magic and it's extensions.

As the lava flowed harmlessly past, Trevor, now stood on a larger platform of metal crafted by his own magic. "Well, four minutes left.... How's that Metal Dragon? Is Trevor Throne a worth descendant of yours now!?"

'I hope I am done I can barely stand, I'm gonna get backlash if I have to push any harder than this.' Trevor thought inwardly.

"Good job young Trevor, you have passed your trial and you will represent great change in this era. Beware as you are not the only one to gain ancient power recently and you will face unimaginable trials ahead.

Now go Trevor Thorne, show your world the might of the Metal Dragons!" The voice boomed with confidence and pride.

"Thank you! I will take this gift and make sure the Metal Dragons rise to glory again!"

'Hmm, good.' The dragon huffed as his gold magic surrounded Trevor before collapsing in on him and teleporting him far, far away.

....

In the wicked cold of an icy mountain peak, a man materialized as if conjured by the whipping winds that surrounded him. His breath hung in the chilled air as he looked upon an ancient temple, the incredible structure forged not from stone but from pure, glistening metal.

Trevor stood before the temple, standing unbothered in this snowy landscape it felt fantastic to him honestly as he was just a moment ago about to be devoured by such an intense heat.

Refocusing on what was ahead Trevor was happy with his success. 'Alright but where am I now a dragon temple?'

The metallic surface of the temple caught the light, reflecting a soft glow amidst the snowy mountain top. Trevor mumbled in amazement as he approached the entrance, drawn by an unseen force that resonated with his blood.

Stepping over the threshold Trevor saw ancient runes, long dormant, flicker to life, revealing an inscription etched into the metallic walls. He was captivated as he traced his fingers over the lines, feeling a deep connection to a long lost era.

'This place is... it's mine? That somehow feels right even though I have never seen it before.'

The inscription as if deeming Trevor worthy revealed its meaning, "The Metal Dragon Temple." It carried a sense of lineage and guardianship forcing a place into Trevor's heart. This temple, a place where the essence of metal melded with the ancient artistry of a dragon struck Trevor with a sense of destiny.

Despite the intense cold and the lonely feeling of being far away from anyone he knew, Trevor felt compelled to sit down within the halls of this fantastic temple and cultivate his aura, diving into the unknown to grasp his new powers more firmly.

.....

In the soft morning light that filtered through the window of his private room at the guild, Niss found himself surrounded by tranquility. The chamber, offered a haven of comfort amidst the loud and furvered activities of the guild. Niss sat in the center of the room drawing mana in as he began to cultivate.

With perfect focus Niss closed his eyes, entering a state of deep concentration with Nyx. His mind went blank as he envisioned the subtle strings of mana within him, responding to his call they purified and swam into his aura. In the quiet and delicate process, Niss sensed the presence of Nyx, a whispering voice that wandered at the edges of his consciousness helping to guide him towards a more perfect method.

Nyx, now a comforting presence that bonded deeply with Niss's very soul, nudged him toward the depths of his own potential. Her tendrils of influence coiling around him, guiding him through the subtleties of a higher form of aura cultivation.

Niss embraced the moment in full. His aura, the symbol of his strength, began to emanate an obsidian glow. The air tingled with mana, as Niss and Nyx forged a clear path that pushed Niss into the third stage.
