The first rays of light began to appear on the horizon, marking the start of a new day. In the middle of that hill, surrounded by flowers where creation first began, a streak of energy cut through the scene, and from it emerged its creator.I carefully looked around that flowery field, which had now turned into a clearing. Even though it was now surrounded by trees, the breeze remained as pleasant as it was when the landscape was first created.Foll – I know I haven't seen the rest of the world yet, but this place will definitely be one of my favorites.Mao – The landscape has changed less than I expected. I hope I didn't miscalculate and only skipped 452 days.Foll – Well, that doesn't really matter, whether it's a few more or fewer days. Enough time must have passed for some things to have changed. We should be able to see the first steps of humanity by now.I took my first step to begin my journey in search of the earliest civilizations when a low growl caught my attention. The sound reminded me of a dog, and from what I remembered, to avoid being attacked, I just needed to appear larger than it and not back away to show dominance. I turned with my chest puffed out—only to find myself staring at the creature's knee.I had never been a short person for my age. Before ending up here, I was 1.90 meters tall, and this wolf, from its feet to its head, must have been around 5 meters tall.Mao – Considering how long it takes for a creature to evolve, I think we skipped a few eras…Foll – What the hell is this? How did a little puppy grow this big?Mao – Well, in your old world, things had already become easier. Survival wasn't just about brute strength anymore. But we're still at the beginning of evolution here. Survival belongs to the strongest. For now, large creatures are only threatened by even larger creatures. It will take some time for that to change. The dog kept staring at me in an aggressive stance but showed no signs of attacking yet. Maybe it had never seen a creature like me before. If my clothes already made me stand out in my own time, what could I say about Mao, a floating orb in the air? Taking advantage of the dog's hesitation, I started stepping backward.Foll – I don't think I can assert dominance over something this big. Any advice?Mao – I'd advise you to come up with some kind of defense system for yourself. Your longevity is only useful if you don't get killed too soon. But in this situation, I can't think of anything. You could try creating something, but I don't recommend making modifications to your own body. That could lead to an accident. External creations might irritate the beast.Foll – What if I create a cage around it?Mao – It's an idea, but it all depends on how strong the dog is. It could just break through the cage. You could create diamond, but you don't actually know its real hardness. So, maybe it could still break through.Crack! The sound of a twig snapping cut through the air. The dog, which had only been growling so far, now started barking and jumping from side to side, becoming more aggressive. I had already put some distance between us, and before it could move, I took the initiative to run. It didn't take long for the dog to start chasing me.I managed to keep my distance for a reasonable time—about the first three minutes—but unfortunately, I was never a very athletic person. After that, exhaustion caught up with me.Mao – Already? Don't give up! Keep running!Foll – I can't… I can't keep going…Mao – Do you want to be dog food?Foll – If you must know, I could accept that. My heart remains open.I stopped just before entering the forest and turned around to see how far the dog was from me—only to find it already with its mouth open, about to chomp down on the upper half of my body. I just threw myself backward, closing my eyes, expecting the swift end of my new life.Unfortunately—or fortunately—the bite never came.I slowly opened my eyes and found myself staring at a humanoid figure about 3 meters tall, holding the dog's closed jaw with nothing but the strength of its arms. The dog struggled to break free, but it was being held down by other brutes. Meanwhile, some shadows passed around the beast, and suddenly, cuts appeared all over its body, though I couldn't quite make out what had happened. After some time resisting, the dog finally went limp and stopped moving. The group let go of the creature and now turned their attention to me.Now able to observe them better, I clearly saw a small group of primitive men and women.
