Chapter 123 - CHAPTER 122: Yamanashi Showdown, Part 4

As Raiden's voice echoed through the air, Enishi's senses sharpened in anticipation of the impending attack. "Ethereal Tempest," Raiden intoned, his voice carrying a weight of authority as he unleashed his formidable technique upon his adversary.

Enishi's brows furrowed in concentration as he braced himself for the onslaught, his eyes tracking the three bolts of lightning hurtling towards him at breakneck speed. With razor-sharp reflexes, he raised his upper arms to block two of the bolts, their crackling energy fizzling against his formidable defenses.

But as the third bolt crashed into his right arm, Enishi felt a surge of energy coursing through his veins, the raw power of Raiden's attack coursing through his body like a bolt of lightning. Despite the staggering force of the impact—200 quintillion volts, to be precise—Enishi remained unfazed, his stoic expression betraying no hint of discomfort.

Raiden's voice cut through the chaos of battle, his words ringing out with a note of disappointment as he assessed the effectiveness of his attack. "That was not it," Raiden declared, his tone tinged with frustration as he prepared to unleash another barrage of lightning upon his adversary.

Enishi's curiosity was piqued by Raiden's cryptic remark, his mind racing with possibilities as he braced himself for the next wave of assault. "What?" Enishi questioned, his voice tinged with curiosity as he sought to unravel the mystery shrouding Raiden's intentions.

Suddenly, the sky above erupted into a symphony of lightning, bolts raining down from every direction with deadly precision. Enishi's senses screamed a warning as he sought to evade the onslaught, his movements swift and fluid as he dodged and weaved through the electrified onslaught.

But Raiden was not finished yet, for even as the bolts rained down from above, the earth itself trembled beneath Enishi's feet. With a deafening roar, the ground beneath him shattered, the very dirt rising up in protest as a surge of lightning surged towards him from below.

Enishi's instincts kicked into overdrive as he sought to evade the combined assault, his movements a blur of speed and precision as he danced on the razor's edge of danger. With a graceful twist of his body, he narrowly avoided the lightning bolt from below.

As the aftermath of Raiden's barrage settled around them, Enishi stood amidst the chaos with an air of stoic calm, his expression unreadable as he assessed the damage wrought by his opponent's assault. "These weak attacks won't cause any harm," Enishi declared with a hint of disdain, his confidence unshaken by the ferocity of Raiden's onslaught.

Raiden's response was measured, his tone tinged with determination as he acknowledged the need to push himself further in order to truly test his opponent's limits. "I'm testing you, as I said earlier," Raiden affirmed, his eyes locked onto Enishi's with unwavering resolve. "I guess I really do need to step it up."

Enishi's lips quirked into a wry smirk, his gaze flickering with a glimmer of amusement as he acknowledged the potency of Raiden's attacks. "Though, your attacks are quite good," Enishi conceded, his tone tinged with begrudging respect as he appraised Raiden's skill in combat.

Raiden's response was terse, his focus unwavering as he braced himself for the next round of combat. "You said that already," Raiden remarked, his voice carrying a note of impatience as he urged Enishi to focus on the task at hand.

But Enishi's words held a deeper meaning, a warning to his opponent to take their battle more seriously. "You should start taking this a little more seriously," Enishi advised, his tone laced with a hint of urgency as he sought to impress upon Raiden the gravity of their situation. "I've never felt fear, anxiety, or anything like that in my life. Not now, not ever."

Raiden met Enishi's gaze with a steady stare, his own resolve unwavering as he affirmed his own lack of fear or doubt. "I haven't felt fear or anxiety either," Raiden declared, his voice tinged with confidence as he reaffirmed his commitment to the battle ahead.

Enishi's declaration hung heavy in the air, a palpable tension crackling between him and Raiden as they stood poised for battle. "I've had enough," Enishi stated with finality, his voice a low rumble that reverberated through the clearing.

Raiden's brows furrowed in confusion at Enishi's abrupt proclamation, his mind racing to comprehend the sudden shift in their confrontation. "What?" Raiden questioned, his voice tinged with uncertainty as he struggled to make sense of Enishi's words.

But before Raiden could formulate a response, Enishi's actions spoke louder than his words as he unleashed a flurry of vertical slashes towards his opponent with blinding speed. The slashes tore through the air with devastating force, their velocity surpassing even the swiftest of projectiles as they hurtled towards Raiden with lethal intent.

Raiden's instincts kicked into overdrive as he barely managed to evade two of the slashes, his left arm severed in the process. With a grunt of pain, he summoned the Life Enes, channeling its power to regenerate his lost limb even as Enishi pressed his advantage.

"Wa-" Raiden's protest was cut short as Enishi delivered a swift blow to his face, the impact staggering him backward as he struggled to maintain his footing. Enishi's words reverberated in his ears, a challenge issued with cold determination as he vowed to match Raiden's output in combat.

"I'll fight you the way you did," Enishi declared, his voice laced with a steely resolve as he prepared to engage Raiden on equal terms. Raiden's eyes widened in realization as he comprehended the gravity of Enishi's declaration, his mind racing to devise a strategy to counter his opponent's relentless assault.

But before he could formulate a plan, Enishi launched another attack, his movements fluid and precise as he closed the distance between them. Raiden's heart pounded in his chest as he braced himself for the impending blow, his muscles tensing in anticipation of the impact.

However, just as Enishi prepared to strike, a sudden interruption shattered the tense standoff. Out of nowhere, Kaito launched a surprise attack, his foot aimed squarely at Enishi's head with deadly precision. Yet, Enishi's reflexes were too quick, his upper right hand snapping out to catch Kaito's leg mid-air with an iron grip.

"AHHHHHHHHHH, LET GOOOOO YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!" Kaito's agonized scream filled the air as Enishi tightened his grip, his strength crushing Kaito's leg with merciless force. With a savage twist, Enishi hurled Kaito against a nearby cluster of trees, the impact sending splinters flying as Kaito crumpled to the ground in a heap.

Meanwhile, Raiden seized the opportunity to counter Enishi's attack, his movements swift and decisive as he intercepted Enishi's blow with a deft block.
