I activated Lumos at the tip of my wand trying to observe the entrance to the Chamber, it seemed to have no bottom, but with the help of Lumos I could see the curvature of the walls increasing in a single direction.
The basilisk wouldn't have been able to get out of there if there wasn't anything for its body to support itself, but I wanted to discover the best strategy to avoid entering from the wrong side and getting hurt due to the curvature being on the other side.
I let my body slide through the entrance and began to travel through the tunnel, a few seconds later I heard a heavy object fall behind me.
"AAAAH!" – I heard Weasley scream in pain.
I continued sliding until I saw a small light at the end of the passage.
Prepared when the tunnel finally ended, I flexed my legs and stabilized my balance, standing within a few seconds.
A few moments later the sound of Weasley arriving came.
SSshh poft.
Ronald emerged from the tunnel upside down and fell heavily to the ground.
"Oh! What was this?" – he protested, still confused.
"Usually we look at where we are going before we take the first step." – I commented, not paying much attention to him.
We were surrounded by dirt, bones and fur.
"AH! THE BASILISK!" – he shouted.
I took a deep breath.
"They're just old skins." – I explained, wanting him to keep his mouth shut.
I started searching the place looking for the next passage until I found a round door themed with snakes and the face of a bearded, middle-aged man.
There was no apparent mechanism to open it, but the snakes' heads reached beyond the edges of the door.
I calmly concentrated and placed the wand at my throat.
"Open it." – I said putting intent.
But nothing from Spell works.
I took a deep breath.
"Open" – I tried again.
SsssSSs echoed and the snakes' heads began to retreat.
Apparently I'm close to mastering this Spell, but it's not useful at all in reality.
When the last head retreated the door finally opened inwards.
I heard footsteps behind me.
"How did you do it?" – asked Ronald, now a little calmer.
"It was just luck that I know what the word 'abra' sounds like in Parseltongue, but I can't make that sound, so I used Spell for that." – I lied as if it were nothing.
With wand in hand I began to explore what was beyond the door.
After walking through a corridor with almost no light, we arrived at a cave, or if you prefer, a Chamber.
There Ginerva lay on the floor as a black-haired teenager looked over her.
"What are you with my sister?" – shouted Weasley, trying to attack the boy.
I extended my arm, stopping him from continuing.
"Nothing she didn't ask for. Ah, at that age and still so naive, so inexperienced. How the world became like this after a few decades." – said the boy.
Ronald seemed lost in his words.
Meanwhile, I was trying to use what little soul energy I had to investigate the situation.
Before it ran out I could notice a connection between the boy in front of us and the black diary lying next to Ginerva.
At the same time I could feel him sucking her life force.
He wasn't real.
He was just a fragment trapped in that diary wanting to steal the girl's life.
Ronald seemed to notice the diary.
"Are you Tom Riddle?" – he asked in disbelief.
The boy in front of us looked a little impressed and disgusted at the same time.
"That was the filthy name I got, but I made it something really special. I created my own name, a name that would make all the undesirables tremble when they heard it." – said the boy as he took out Ginerva's wand.
In the air he began to write his name.
'Tom Marvolo Riddle'
"This is my past, present and future, I am Lord Voldemort." – he shouted triumphantly.
The letters in the air rearranged themselves to show that the statement was just an anagram of his name.
A little childish for my taste.
"We are in the presence of the illustrious Lord Voldemort, I would say when he was around 16 years old." – I said without showing much respect.
That's because I had confirmed once and for all who I needed to stop in this world...
If the protagonist were alive, he would probably stop the villain's attempt to return.
Oh, what a headache.
I felt the Weasley next to me tremble at the revelation of our opponent.
I sneered and with a wrist movement fired an Expeliarmus taking the wand from the young Dark Lord's hand.
"You, you are part of Slytherin. You should be more than grateful for what I'm doing! Why do you insist on staying in my way, when I return I can reward you in abundance." – argued Little Vold.
At that moment I spat on the floor.
"I've been beaten my whole life by one of your followers, there's nothing you can say that's going to make me follow you, especially a teenage version of Voldcunt." – I said without showing emotions.
The boy in front of me was irritated by the humiliation.
"That was your choice!" – he shouted.
SsssSSSsssSSSssssss…
He started speaking in Parseltongue and I already knew what was coming.
"Ronald, close your eyes, he's calling the basilisk." – I said, alerting the fearful person next to me.
"But if we close our eyes, how will we face him?" – he asked without confidence.
"There is no chance of us being able to defeat a basilisk with our eyes open or closed. I'm still thinking about what to do here." – I said looking around for a solution.
