"Josh?!" Ashley called after him, scrambling to follow. She caught up to him in the hallway, grabbing his arm to stop him. "You just agreed? Just like that?"
Josh sighed, turning to face her with an unreadable expression. "I know what I'm doing, Ash. Just trust me."
Ashley shook her head, disbelief clouding her face. "But they're trying to separate the team. Can't you see that?"
"I see it. But what can we do?" Josh asked calmly, though his voice carried a hint of frustration.
"Resist!" Ashley exclaimed, her tone almost pleading.
Josh paused, his gaze steady as he studied her. "Like Dylan? Or like the rogues?"
Ashley froze, the weight of his words settling heavily between them. "We're different," she said quietly, though her voice lacked conviction.
