Chapter 12 - ☆Chapter 10, The Demon Of Despair, Bria ☆

They arrived in the industrial city and could instantly feel the unease of the people.

"Hm..." Aster sighed. "Zoe, I'm sorry your sticking with us for so long..."

"It's fine. It's been quite nice, actually." She said sheepishly.

"Here we are, the city of Davit..." Rio trailed off as he saw guards standing to attention at the gates of the city.

"Guards? But why are they..." Zoe gasped as they turned their heads, and held their spears up as if to attack.

"Halt! State your names and purpose!" The guard grumbled.

"I am Rio, the Spirit Lord Of Shadows Chosen One." He said. "And this is Aster, holder of the Goddess's power and sword."

"O-oh, well then, go right in."

As they entered the gates, people stopped and stared; muttering and low chatter filled the surrounding streets.

"As I said, Davit needs your help because..." He trailed off, suddenly grabbing them and running into a massive temple that stood at the top right of the city, surrounding the main castle.

"Sorry, that place was really dangerous to talk about this." Rio then began to explain. "Years ago, the Goddess came to the Shadow Lord and warned him of a powerful threat coming to his kingdom, but he didn't listen." He sighed, looking down. "Soon after, a young priestess began to act strange, until one day, she used some strange distorted power to really damage the Spirit Lord's Sanctuary, and thus, The Spirit Lord began to die."

Lily looked horrified. "What sort of priestess could have that power and act so mercilessly?"

"The demon lords first elite, Bria." Aster said, suddenly feeling the name on his lips; something wasn't right.

How did I even know?...

"Bria?" Zoe turned to Aster, ready to question him on how he knew this, but out of nowhere, a massive circle with hard, magical bricks with greek inscriptions maintained the magical power of the chaotic portals appeared, slowly drawing them close.

"My child...be cautious, great danger awaits you if you go in there...but It has a clue that could help you save the shadow lord's life..."  Aster's head began to ring with that message, he groaned and soon managed to shake it away.

"Are you okay?" Lily asked, using her light magic to hold off the mass chaotic power.

"Yes, Lily...but, we should go in there, it may be dangerous, but I feel it has a lead on how to heal the shadow lord." He suddenly blurted out.

Without question, they followed.

Meanwhile, The Outside Of The Shadow Lord's Temple.

"Hah, fools, fell right into my trap..." A mocking, female voice cackled. "Seems your only hope isn't coming to save your pathetic life..."

"I...I trust in the Goddess, I believe in her, I know she will save us." The shadow lord's voice echoed from the temple.

"Trust in her all you want, she can't stop us anyway, the seal took most of her strength to maintain, Aster is her only hope to defeat the demon king and restore her power once my lord is defeated...which will never happen." Her lips curled into a mocking smile.

Now, the plan was initiated.
