It has now been about a year and a half since Satin Pothos first 'woke up' and they finally have completed their first goal. After much trial and error they created a new body that can walk and move around like the creatures they had observed but the transfer of their consciousness was too much for them, causing them to pass out. Now we can see the small body that Satin Pothos had created laying on the forest floor among the vines, fast asleep.
While Satin Pothos slept their new body seemed to undergo some changes. As if settling into its new shape, the features of the body became smoother until they looked much like a normal human child. Albeit green and covered in leaves. Satin Pothos slept like this for a while and it was not until three days had passed that they finally woke up.
Waking up, Satin Pothos reflexively stretched their body as they sat on the forest floor. WIth their eyes still closed they begin to assess the situation 'Hmm… it seems like I passed out. But…' They try to feel their body as they could before and reach out their arms while opening and closing their fingers. Although they can still sense every part of their body they cannot 'see' it in the same way they could before. In fact they were no longer able to see at all. 'I think it worked but…now I can't see anything!'
Satin Pothos moves their arms, using their hands to feel different parts of their body before reaching up and touching their face. 'Hmm… did I not make the eyes right?' Feeling around they touch their mouth and nose, eventually reaching up to their eyes. 'What's this?... there is something covering the eyes.' At this thought Satin Pothos opens their eyes almost immediately.
Instantly they are bombarded with a load of information. All they can see is the color green before they tightly close their eyes again. 'Whoa, that was different…' Satin Pothos opens their eyes again but this time much slower, squinting as their eyes adjust. Finally after a few blinks their eyes adjust and they are able to look around. They can see their own large and small vines all around them. Looking up they can almost see pieces of the blue sky from below the cover of the vines, trees and other plants.
Seeing their vines they are momentarily filled with panic, thinking that they will be forever separated from their main body. However after placing one of their small hands on the vine and directing their thoughts towards it, they realize that this is not the case. It seems they still have a connection with their body and even still have the ability to control the large vines. Although not as reflexively as before. It also feels that should they attempt it, they would be able to transfer their consciousness back into the vines. With a sigh of relief Satin Pothos goes back to observing their new body.
They take a few slow steps using their arms to balance as they steady themselves on their feet, getting used to their new body. "This is so cool! I can really see now! And I can also smell and hear!" they gasp at the sound of their own voice, small and clear like a bell. "Whoa, am I…talking? Yes, that is what this is called." With bright eyes Satin Pothos touches their mouth as it moves with the words and smiles with delight. "None of the other creatures talked… oh well!"
"Okay, I did it! I made a body that can move and look around." Satin Pothos nods their head in approval with their hands on their hips. "What should I do now? hmm… I guess I'll explore a bit and see what I can find."
Looking at one of the larger vines nearby, they will it to bend down and move one of the larger leaves closer to the ground so they can climb on. After taking a seat they move the vine high into the sky to get a better look around. "Wooow!" Satin Pothos looks around with sparkling eyes, amazed at the sight before them. Now that they can look around without being assaulted by that harsh pain they are amazed at how large the world seems to be.
There are plants overtaking large ruins as far as the eye can see. A few rivers and streams can be seen flowing through the forest ruins, trailing off into the distance. Their main body is overtaking a large area of the city. Although they naturally did know how large they were from the start, looking at it now, they are stunned with how big they actually were. Currently they are close to the center of their main body but even from this height they are unable to see where the vines end. "Wow! I'm huge!... or maybe I'm small? Hmmm." Looking at their hands they ponder this for a short while before deciding that it doesn't really matter and turning their attention back to the breathtaking view in front of them.
Satin Pothos continues to look out at the world around them, admiring the view for some time until they start to grow bored. "Sigh, what should I do now?... oh, I know!" Lowering the vine back down, close to the forest floor, Satin Pothos prepares to jump. As their feet reach the ground they strike a pose, celebrating their successful landing. "Let's go this way!" With a point of a finger Satin Pothos begins to enthusiastically march towards the Center of their main body.
They wander for some time, looking around the forest at the various animals and insects they had 'seen' before. This time with new eyes. Soon they reached one of the streams they had seen from above. Though from this close it was more like a small river. It was about 8-10 ft across, about twice as wide as they were tall. "Hmmm, how should I cross it? I could cross it with vines but that's no fun, I should try to cross it as I am!"
After pondering for a while they seem to make a decision. "I got it!" With a playful look in their eyes they turn their focus to the energy in their body and use it to stretch their legs until they have grown a few feet taller. Satisfied with this they turn back to the river. Taking a careful step forward, they begin simply to walk across the river. With their legs stretched long, they can now cross the river without the water even touching their torso. As their submerged legs could not be seen, should someone happen to see this, it would look as if they were walking across the surface.
Finally, after making it to the other side, they move the energies in their body and shorten their legs back to their original length. Nodding with satisfaction they leave the river behind and continue on their journey. While traveling they come across many things they had 'seen' before. Each time they do they stop for a moment to observe it, taking in additional details they had failed to notice before they had eyes.
Some of the creatures they see are smaller than them. They came across one very beautiful insect that is about the same size as their hand. It had beautiful multicolored wings that fluttered delicately as it moved about. Determining that the creature must be called a butterfly, they continue on while continuing to take note of everything they see.
It does not take very long to reach the center of the vines, as from the start they had not been too far from it. The closer they got however the denser the vines became. From beneath the thick foliage they are now unable to see even a speck of the blue sky from before. But nonetheless they continue on, having no choice now but to use their vines to traverse the dense jungle. Soon, they reach the center and are met with a tangle of vines that have taken over what must have been a medium-sized two story house at some point.
The house can barely be seen beneath the vines that have engulfed the entire structure. But with a strong curiosity Satin Pothos begins to shift some of the vines out of the way so they can explore. It seems like most of the vines started below the house and grew out from there. Once enough vines have been moved they turn their attention back to the structure and climb through one of the openings.
The building is surprisingly intact and quite sturdy. It seems like the structure itself is full of the same strange energy that they had been able to make use of. The energy appears to have had some kind of strengthening and preservative effect on the structure. This must have been what allowed the building to stay so intact despite the numerous heavy vines growing out from it and the passing of tens of thousands of years.
Once inside, Satin Pothos looks around at the dark interior. There are vines overtaking the inside of the building as well and Satin Pothos can't see much aside from this. After moving the vines and around to form an open space inside they try to inspect further. It appears that the building consists of three floors. There is the first floor that they entered from, the second floor, and a floor underground.
They were only able to reach the second floor after using some of their vines to support the deteriorating stairs. The basement also had stairs that lead down but they were not able to investigate it further. This was because the vines and roots that were overtaking the basement were far too dense and they were not able to make clearing large enough to explore. After moving more vines and exploring the rest of the house they had a good mental map of the layout.
The first floor had two large rooms and one small one. The first room they entered was almost completely empty, if not for a few piles of rubbish that was leftover from whatever furniture that had been here in the distant past. The second large room had surfaces lining the walls that would probably be useful for something. These were made of a cold stone supported by wood shelves below. There were a few other strange things in the room that were mostly deteriorated but Satin Pothos did not know what they were. Moving to the last small room. There were only two things in this room, both made of the same stone-like material. One looked like some kind of chair and the other was some kind of standing basin.
The second floor had four rooms of different sizes. The smallest room had the same weird chair and matching basin as on the floor below but also had a much larger basin made of the same material. The other three rooms were only occupied by a few more piles of rubbish, unidentifiable from what they once were.
While inside the smallest room on the second floor Satin Pothos noticed that there was a strange material on the wall above the smaller basin that seemed to have reflective properties and took a moment to inspect themself. They had short, fluffy green hair with spots of pale green that framed their face perfectly and stopped just below their ears. This was topped off with a small leaf sprouting from the top of their head. Their ears, which poked out a few inches on either side of their face, looked almost like leaves and matched the small sprout on their head. They had pale green eyes with darker green species throughout. At the center of each eye was a very dark green pupil that almost looked black, the same color as the sclera that wrapped around the edges. Their skin, that was a pale green to match their eyes, seemed to carry a youthful, healthy glow.
Making their way back to the second floor, Satin Pothos takes a seat in the first room. After contemplating for a short while, they decided on their next plan. They will stay here for a while to learn more about themself and their surroundings as well as to get fully accustomed to their new body. With this in mind Satin Pothos decides to clean out their home a bit. They remove all the piles of rubbish and look at the rooms pondering what to do with them. Before they can make any decisions however they let out a yawn, noticing the sun as set.
"First, I suppose I should make a comfy place to sleep." Satin Pothos heads upstairs and enters the largest room. Then they begin to move and shape the vines to make a good spot for them to rest. Soon they can see a small bed of vines before them with a few large leaves all around to use as bedding. They give a small satisfied nod before yawning again, climbing into the bed and bending the leaves protectively to cover their small body. After a few short minutes they drift off to sleep.
