We open on a crisp spring morning in April. The sun can be seen peeking through the ruins of the tall city buildings, each thousands of years old and covered in plants and lifeforms of all kinds. Birds are seen nesting at the highest reaches and some of the buildings that have collapsed are homes to even more countless species of plants, animals and insects.
Despite the constant struggles among the flora that are locked in an endless competition to find the sunniest spots, one viny plant has dominated a good third of the city. Its vines have grown uncontrollably for thousands of years. Some of its leaves, that normally would grow to be no longer than a human hand, are massive and reach up to 50 feet in length.(If compared to a typical yellow school bus that are about 35 feet on average, they would be 15 feet longer.) The vines have grown and taken over numerous buildings. Its green and almost white leaves cover everything in sight for approximately 50 square miles with a medium sized two-story house at its center.
This house, once equipped with a self-sufficient system, has been a safe haven for this viny plant that allowed it to grow and stay alive for more than 20,000 years. It has now become overgrown with a viny house plant known as Satin Pothos that its long lost and forgotten occupants had cared for.
Thousands of years ago there was a change in the world's energies and many beings that could not handle this were instantly whipped out. This caused the fall of modern civilization as more than 99% of all people died immediately. The remnants of humanity have only started to come together again to form new societies within the last millennia or so. The change in the world's energies was a catalyst for many other developments. Animals and plants began to evolve and mutate, becoming stronger and learning to make use of these strange energies. The remaining Humans have also gradually changed and developed distinct traits that would be useful for their survival in this new and dangerous world. They've evolved into many different species that eventually formed small towns, cities and kingdoms that dot the vast forest landscapes.
After the passing of 10s of thousands of years the land itself has shifted and changed as well. Shortly after the fall of mankind their many weapons and strange devices began to melt down all over the world which had a great impact on the landscape. Following this, there were numerous natural disasters caused by the changing of the world's energies. With all these changes and the gradual shifting of the earth's tectonic plates the 7 contents eventually merged into three large masses of land with several small islands dotting the vast oceans.
With the changing of the world and the addition of this strange energy that now encompassed everything, the temperature across the land also rose until most of the world was covered in massive rainforests. At each pole the temperatures, although much lower than the rest of the world and still frozen most of the year, would not drop below -10°f and would normally range between 0-30°f.
This city landscape however, was far from either pole and was near the center of one of the continents known as the continent of Ammallie. At the heart of Ammallie was the largest rainforest on the planet, named after the continent it was known as the Ammallie rainforest. This rainforest was resting place for these and many other ancient ruins. Each home to a vast array of strange creatures and unknown discoveries.
