As Jiu Li drifted off to sleep, he suddenly felt a strange tingling sensation in his head. He saw flashes of images and heard portions of conversations that he couldn't quite understand . It was as if he was experiencing Jiu Li's memories.
When he woke up, he felt disoriented and confused. He tried to brush off the feeling, but it lingered.
As Jiu Li tried to recall what he had seen and heard in his brief moment of memory flash, he realized that they all revolved around the protagonist. It was like he had witnessed a part of possibly Jiu Li's life, but he couldn't be sure.
Suddenly, a nurse came into the room to check on him.
"How are you feeling today, Jiu Li?"
the nurse asked with a gentle smile. Jiu Li rubbed his eyes and sat up slowly.
"I'm feeling a bit confused, to be honest" ,
he replied. The nurse raised an eyebrow curiously.
"What was it?
"I'm not sure."
he lied. He could never tell her these weird occurrences he's experiencing. The nurse nodded understandingly.
"Well, let me know if you need anything. Your family should be arriving soon, so try to rest up and prepare for their visit."
Jiu Li nodded and lay back down, feeling a mix of anxiety and curiousity at the thought of seeing his "family". So far, he had only saw his sister. What were Jiu Li's parents like?
Suddenly, the door opened and a group of people walked in, all dressed in expensive clothing and exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. Jiu Li couldn't help but hold his breath. Suddenly, his mother broke into tears and hugged Jiu Li.
"Jiu Li!"
she cried.
"Your father and I were so worried about you. How are you feeling? Your sister visited first because we were busy!"
Jiu Li felt a wave of emotion wash over him as he looked at them, but he also felt empty, these emotions didn't belong to him.
As a orphan, he had never experienced this before, he was at a lost words and didn't know how act. Jiu Li decided to act out of character for the sake of chucking a response out. He hugged his mother back tightly and replied,
"I'm feeling much better now, thank you. I'm sorry for worrying you both"
His mother widened her eyes, her son was never that polite and humble. His father saw this and added,
"We're just glad to see you awake and well. The doctor said that you might be suffering from amnesia, is that true?"
Jiu Li nodded slowly.
"Yes, I'm having some trouble remembering things,"
he admitted.
"But I'm sure it'll all come back to me soon."
His mother wiped her tears away and nodded, she understood her son may not act the same ever again.
