Chapter 1 - The Confused

A man layed motionless on the hospital bed, resembling a lifeless puppet with cut strings. Out of the blue, the puppet appeared to have come back to life, and the man suddenly restored consciousness and sprang up from the bed.

The doctor who witnessed this extraordinary occurrence found it hard to believe his own eyes as he was convinced that the man had passed away. Had his medical abilities deteriorated? The doctor completely forgot to report this news, as he was completely absorbed in his thoughts about the man who had seemingly returned from the brink of death.

In that moment, the man interrogated,

"Where am I?",

only then the doctor had came to his senses.

"Uh….oh! Your at the….the.... h-hos- hospital!"

The doctor was at a lost for words and could barely sputter a single phrase. The man raised his eyebrows and questioned,

"Why?"

The doctor clarified,

"According to the informant, while you were deeply engrossed in experimenting and practicing with your weapons, they accidentally startled you and you mistakenly used the weapon on yourself when they called out your name."

The man questioned the sanity of the supposed doctor sitting across from him when he casually mentioned that he practiced and experimented with weapons, despite their illegality in their country. Upon awakening, the man noticed that everything the person across from him said seemed nonsensical.

It seemed almost perfect timing when his eyes met the window, revealing a reflection that was not the man himself but a young man seemly in his 14s with pale skin, the typical black hair and sapphire eyes. This shook the man as it was not him, if it was not his body, who's was it? Was he even in his world?

This new kind of information hit the man like an tsunami as it was kind of hard to accept he was literally in an foreign world without his family and friends he cherished, and he just left them just like that without saying goodbye. Guilt seeped into him, not that he was at fault anyway, but he still tried to find fault in himself by thinking if only he had not overworked himself and fell asleep, he wouldn't have ended up where. Oh how much he regretted it!

Now here lies the most difficult aspect: who's the identity of the person he's currently possessing? He glanced at the window for the second time, examining his appearance once again.

This body bears a striking resemblance to the description of the villain in the novel I was reading the day before I got transferred into this body. Hmmm... hold on a moment. The villain? Jiu Li? The one who met a terrible fate when the protagonist sought vengeance?

The man who now possessed Jiu Li's body started to feel anxious. If he can undo the harm caused by "Jiu Li"' or prevent "Jiu Li" from provoking the protagonist, then he will be safe, correct? First, he would like to see how far he is in the plot.
