'Is something behind me?' he thought as he continued searching.
He stood up "I won't be able to search for it, if you keep staring at me like that"
Marvin blushed upon hearing his words "Listen I have a way to get us out and if it doesn't work there Is always another way"
Marvin looked at him and sighed "That may be impossible...no... Is, so it's best if you give up while you can"
"And why?" Alec asked "That's because of the guardians, you may not know but there was someone that stayed here before you and she was quite strong and she was helped by a worker who was strong,
she was the former head of the orphanage,she tried to help her escape the next time we saw them dead their flesh ripped apart from her body"
"From then we realized that we could never leave, everyone here to the staff is stuck here"
"She probably wasn't strong enough" Alec shrugged, Marvin looked at him and explained "For someone to be in charge of this place their ability or strength must be on par with the guardians, and on the day of the incident, only one of the guardian was around so it was very easy to say we can't beat them"
"Just because you can't do it doesn't mean I can't" he smiled and continued "I can leave anytime I want to, I just don't want to leave you behind"
"Hmmm, I understand but listen not everyone is bad out here" Marvin said with sincerity
"That's something I can never believe, good people do bad things too, when push comes to shove, people can kill or do anything whether good or bad whether family of friends"
"Smile more, you look better when you smile than with that cold face" he said
"You still haven't answered my first question"she changed the topic
Alec turned to look at him "What questions?"
"What's your powers, do you have bloodline power, who are your parents, why do you hate people, and how do you plan to escape?" Marvin gidded while practically giggling
"Power no, bloodline powers none,parents dead, and as for the hate, you wouldn't understand;and how we're leaving I'm not telling you"
He added "You are the only person I slightly trust, I didn't even trust my parents and I was right" His face full of pain as he recollected his awful past
He sat down and calmed himself down, after a few minutes of silence " Can you take Arvec away for now" he said as he hoisted Arvec up, Marvin gave him a deadpan look "I'm not his nanny"
"You're not his nanny you're his parent does that make you happy?"
"Not exactly" Marvin replied, Alec sighed at the comment "Please can you take Arvec?"
Marvin smiled at him smugly "Since you asked so nicely" he left with Arvec with his last words being "Don't forget what to eat what I gave you"
After Marvin left he opened a metal box and the transparent like butterfly from last time came out 'This better be of use or else.....' the butterfly perched on his shoulder, suddenly it was engulfed in shadow.
The butterfly prevented the use of powers but his shadow powers worked which brought him a little joy.
He found out the butterfly had the ability to duplicate that came with a different ability each time, only the original butterfly could duplicate itself.
In the night, he snuck out reaching the fence of the gate; he jumped over,making sure no one was there.
He ran a few miles and stopped in front of an extremely tall tree, full of vitality not ordinary to say the least.
He dug close to the tree , using a special metal he created using metal ability associated with his body strengthening technique, after digging few miles downward he pulled out a case and opened it revealing a book and an ancient sword.
The bright green book contrasted with the darkness of the night, slightly illuminating the surrounding area, inside the book the text was also glowing but the words were glitchy
'That old bastard really died' he looked at the book. Ever since he came here, he had always sensing fluctuations of energy that seemed familiar to him until he remembered about the clan 'Atremis' who are mystical creatures that have long life spans, they hold great knowledge.
They possess four eyes and a great height, their skin colour being a pale purple colour.
The smallest being 3 meters tall, but unfortunately the longer they live the more they are hunted by humans dye to their mana.
They were killed off until only one remained, he was close to the dragon clan, but sadly he was still killed off by the humans.
He had written a book that contained all the necessary information regarding mana and how to use it, it was worth more than any fortune.
Alec put the items in his shadow and returned, as he was about to enter he heard someone whisper "Did you hear what Marvin did to Rose?"
"Know!? I was there I saw everything with my very eyes, bad isn't enough to describe it, it's enough to say it's gruesome"
"I know he hates her but not that bad"
"I think it's because she stalks him secretly"
Their gossip continued on, Alec on the other hand was lost in thought
'Is that what they do in their free time gossip?'
"He won't get punished at the end of the day"
'I wonder what he did, I'll ask him later' Alec thought
"Do you think it's those one sided relationships where one hates the other while one likes the other"
"Oh you mean Rose likes him,on the other hand Marvin doesn't like her"
Hearing that Alec froze for a few seconds then he continued on.
He stopped in front of one of the rooms that was opened he passed his head through the crack; upon seeing what was inside his eyes widened in shock, then he quickly returned back to his room.
The next day
Marvin found himself back in Alec's room, once again complaining about Rose "There are different rumors going on about Rose and I, some people say I like her but don't know how to express it"
"Do you?" Alec blurted out, following that an awkward silence ensued
"No,I don't" Marvin replied while looking at Alec like he was staring at a fool
"First of all someone like her doesn't have a good heart" he continued on while Alec paid attention
"You know, you keep looking at me like you're seeing a ghost" he said "I want to meet later this night outside okay" Alec said, Marvin shrugged and replied "Sure" he said with a smile on his face
"You're voice hasn't deepened" *slam*
As soon as Marvin left his face became a bright red 'How would I ask about it?'.
He shook his head frantically to forget what he was thinking about and picked up the green book, the book contained the principles of how to use mana for forgery, alchemy, techniques for fighting and defense and many more, in other words it contained all the knowledge Atremis learnt in his entire life.
"I need to learn the seven earthly steps before moving to the next one" he murmured while reading the contents of the book.

"So why did you call me?" Marvin asked, looking carefully at Alec with suspicion and curiosity
"Let's go before we get discovered then I'll explain everything to you" he replied
"Where's the place?" He asked not budging until he got an answer "The lake outside" he clarified
"You actually can't believe I'm going to follow you....right" Marvin bantered
