Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Today marked the beginning of our rigorous preparations for the upcoming competition. A series of challenges awaited us – a test of seven subjects, an eight-kilometer relay race, a martial arts tournament, a cooking competition, a swimming contest, a basketball tournament, and a final test of senses akin to the infamous demon training room. As I stood under the shower, contemplating the tasks ahead, I knew that I could conquer most of them alone, but the cooking and basketball segments posed unique challenges that required a different approach.

Exiting the shower, I found a note on the table left by Karl. He and the others were attending lectures designed for the competitors, but I, being confined to my room, was expected to stay put and avoid any reckless behavior, a subtle reference to my escapade the previous night. "Yeah yeah, blah blah," I muttered dismissively, already concocting my own plans.

The idea struck me to revisit my old room, and with a sly grin, I called someone despite the warnings. Sam answered with concern, advising against contacting him due to Anna's prying eyes. Ignoring his caution, I inquired about the occupancy of my previous quarters. Sam informed me that the room was unoccupied but off-limits, as Anna had reserved it for undisclosed reasons, even unbeknownst to him.

Unperturbed, I scribbled a note in response, declaring my intention to reside in my former abode, with a subtle suggestion that Anna be consulted if the teacher had any objections. It was time to revisit the past, and the thought brought a nostalgic smile to my face.

As I reached my old room, I activated the hidden mechanism with my ring, and the door swung open, revealing a space unchanged since I last occupied it. Memories flooded back, and with mischief in mind, I discovered an old adult magazine that once belonged to James. Amused by the thought of how close Anna came to discovering it, I decided to play a prank. As I prepared to take a photo of the magazine to send to James, Anna's phone rang, and she hastily left the room, interrupting my mischievous plan. However, I managed to capture the moment later and sent it to James with a teasing message, "Remember it?"

To maintain my peak condition, I engaged in a rigorous six-hour workout, pushing my body to its limits. Sweat poured down my exhausted frame, and with a sense of accomplishment, I took a refreshing shower before collapsing onto the bed, feeling the fatigue seep into my bones.

The hours ticked by as I rested, reflecting on the challenges ahead. The competition loomed like a formidable mountain, but I was determined to conquer it, not just for myself, but for the greater purpose that awaited us all
