Somewhere downtown.
Harryman watches the news, he's drinking some brandy and ice in a darkened room. The floorboards below his feet protest the extra weight around as other members of the heist nervously move hands , some standing while some pace before lowing themselves back into their chairs. He isn't nervous though, he knows what he has to do, they all do. Pity the job was a burst, he had been briefed about the jewels in the ivory purse and that was their main objective. He had meant to pinch it under the cover of the robbery and now he would have to make sure Dallas never woke up from that hospital bed.
Loie Jonah walks out of terminal one, he has booked a flight to the Caribbean Islands, any man can get lost there. He checks his watch nine-fifty pm. His flight leaves in two hours.
He thumbs his phone and books an Uber directly to the airport. The closest car is ten minutes away.
He remembers the event of the morning. He was tasked with storing away some precious stones, not just precious stones but family heir looms, his client hadn't been very talkative but he was used to back room dealing. They were dangerous and also highly lucrative. Safety was what his client emphasized.
He shivers again, remembering the blood red eyes of his client in the dark room where he met him. His almost too long arms for a human, the client who never gave a name knew Loie, knew his reputation. Loie was no coward but he had felt fear. It amused his client.
" Mr Jonah, I understand that you can keep certain valuables quite well", "you have come highly recommended, you see I also have a reputation to keep and I would hate to apologize to my superiors". The raspy voice says.
" I don't come cheap, and I take my money up front "
Loie never expected to be paid five hundred thousand dollars upfront, he had expected some objections but the client had just smiled, his smile looking like the baring of teeth of a dog, a very big big dog.
Now armed with five hundred thousand dollars he was going to low in the Caribbeans for a while. He looked at his phone, the app shows Seven minutes away.
Nadu watches the small man looking at his phone, he's holding the case probably containing the money. He sniffs the air, the wind brings the man's scent, he reaks of fear, the man is fleeing after loosing the prime jewel, he snares , he would hate to apologize to the council. The council would not be pleased, infact he would only hope they would be satisfied with just his life. Nadu makes a decision, he would follow the trail and bring back the jewels. He merges with the shadows and stretches out to snare his prey. The white haired man struggles, his eyes becoming blank as he crosses the street to the shadows opposite. There Nadu materialises. The man, released from the mind meld opens his mouth to scream but his mouth makes no sounds. Johan's eyes filled with terror as Nadu picks him up and takes him outside the city, far away from the concrete world of men to his lair where he would take the time to sift the man for memories and continue his retrieval. He relishes the feeling, perhaps something good will com
e out of this.
