Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 - Alita's realisation

It appeared her resistance had dropped to zero, meaning she would obey almost anything he told her to.

Ivar suspected the only orders she would still disobey were those related to directly harming her sister. He started thinking, as Andra's appearance had allowed him to make another plan to make Alita's resistance drop to zero, but now he wondered if that plan might make her drop below zero instead.

He also noticed the Valkyrie transformation and asked Selene about the question marks, "Hey Selene, what's up with those question marks by Alina's transformation?"

Selene shrugged, "Call it insurance for the future. We don't know if her transformation has any more surprises, considering we are still unsure what her ancestor's race was."

Ivar nodded as he changed back to the form of a human man. Of course, his shirt got torn apart again, while his trousers only covered the bare minimum now. But he was used to that; it was just a little more annoying here on Earth.

He crouched down to the ground to pick up the severed hand and the weapon it was clutching.

He pried away the hand and tossed it back into the dirt while asking, "Do you have any suspects for the identity of this mistress Andra spoke of, Alita? And what do you know of Andra herself? Any idea how she was able to find us?"

As Ivar inspected the weapon, Alita seemed to think before answering, "Not exactly, but there aren't many women in important positions within the criminal network of NLA. I think my sister might have some ideas."

Anger flashed before her eyes, "As for Andra, I thought she was my friend, so now I'm not sure I know anything anymore. But no, I don't know how she could have found us. If she could track us from the start, I'm sure she would have shown up at the apartment."

Ivar smiled as he realised this was a good time to implement his plan of making Alita fall deeper by pulling her out of her delusion, "You seem to hate this Andra woman quite a lot for someone in a very similar situation."

Alita looked flustered and a little shocked, "I- What do you mean, Master? We're not trying to kill my sister. It's very different!"

"Sure, because we are talking about your sister. But say I had ordered you to kill Andra, assuming she hadn't already betrayed you, would you have disobeyed? Or would you have told her it was nothing personal and done the deed?"

"I…" Alita was stunned into silence and lost for words as she had no answer to that question and fell into thought.

While Alita was exploring her feelings and exactly how far she would go for the master she had met a mere two days ago, Selene appeared next to Ivar and inspected the weapon,

"I think this is what they call a katana here on Earth. I don't believe they exist in this form on Máni, but it is not that different from other swords; it should serve you well."

Ivar gave the sword a few practice swings and nodded. It was a little different from the swords he was used to and a little too short for him, but he would adapt.

Either way, it was better than no weapon at all.

Unfortunately, he had nothing to carry the sword in, but Andra's overcoat was still on the ground, so he grabbed it, checked it for anything that might be used to track him, and wrapped it around the sword for now.

He looked at Alita, "Ready to go?"

He had expected Alita to be slightly distressed over his words, but instead, she appeared to be… grinning.

Ivar looked surprised; he had expected her to at least break down a little, something he could then use to build her up a little more like how he wanted her to be, but she seemed a little too relaxed.

He raised an eyebrow at Alita, "What's with the grin, girl?"

Alita shrugged, "Nothing, Master. I just realised you're right; there's no point hiding it anymore. To be honest, I've never really cared about anyone but my sister.

I always pretended to care because I didn't want my sister to leave me; hell, I didn't want to disappoint her.

But now, what is still the point in pretending to be someone I am not? Since I serve you now, and you certainly don't care about my morality, I might as well accept who I have always been. Especially if my sister will soon join me anyway."

Ivar was both surprised and intrigued by Alita, who seemed to be releasing a part of her that had been locked away for a long time, "And who have you always been, Alita?"

Still shrugged, "Someone who will do anything not only to survive but thrive but not alone; I want to do it together with my sister.

You know, Master. Obeying you feels good, and I realise I won't ever get away from you anymore because I get a pit in my stomach when I even think about disobeying you, but that is not the only reason I decided to submit to you.

I did it because, ever since our parents died, my sister and I have been alone in a city that devours young girls on a daily basis. A sister who always loved and protected me, but in the end, still would have failed if not for you.

But you could do a much better job at protecting me than she ever could, and not only that, but you also make me stronger. If you do the same things for my sister, then I really have no reason not to grovel at your feet and do anything you please.

Shame and pride mean nothing to me, only survival and my sister."

Ivar had to laugh at her words, "You impress me, Alita." But then his grin turned a little sinister as he grabbed Alita by her throat, pushed her up against the wall, and leaned in close,

"Just remember who's in charge here, girl. What I want is your absolute devotion and loyalty. That means I stand even above your sister, and if I ever find you wavering in that conviction, I will drop you in the dirt and leave you behind, understood?"

Strangely, Alita seemed to be excited by this display as she panted lightly in arousal, and something seemed to break inside her, possibly a piece of her sanity, "U- Understood, Daddy."

Resistance: -1

Selene, who had been looking at all this, was positively flabbergasted, "Holy shit!! You completely broke this woman in two days flat!"

Ivar snickered inwardly and responded in his mind, "It wasn't that hard—just a combination of submissive therian instincts and a… compatible personality.

I don't believe she is weak-willed, either. In fact, I think she may be extraordinarily strong-willed, so as long as she has something to put her faith in."

Ivar continued, "Besides, 'broke' is a little harsh; it's not like she's just an obedient doll now. In fact, barely anything has changed, aside from her perception of our relationship."

Selene shook her head, "You don't understand the significance of going below zero; she may still have her own personality, but there will be no more hesitation or doubts.

She may still voice her own opinions and act independently like any other person, but in the end, your words will be like a divine mandate to her."

Ivar raised an eyebrow, "And that's bad?"

Selene started laughing, "What? No, of course not. It's awesome! I just wanted you to be aware of how far she'll go for you now.

Be careful, however; although she might be willing to harm her sister for you now, actually ordering her to do so would likely result in a mental breakdown, rendering her little more than a lifeless doll."

Ivar nodded, "Well, then it's a good thing I have no intention of doing so."

Selene then started grinning excitedly, "That's true! So get moving! We have a sister to conquer!"

Ivar grinned, "You know, you and I are pretty similar."

Selene laughed, "And that is why we make the perfect partners!"

He refocused on Alita, who was still held against the wall by his hand, "Daddy, huh?"

Alita grinned, "I don't remember much from my father, but you protect and take care of me, so why not? I kind of like it. Do you mind?"

Ivar snickered and let her go, "Not at all."

Alita looked down at herself as she trembled and grinned widely; she realised Ivar's rough treatment had made her excited as he seemed to have awakened the little masochist inside her.

She looked at Ivar pleadingly, "I'm a waterfall right now, Daddy. Will you take responsibility?"

Ivar smirked but shook his head, "I already told you when you'll get your reward."

Alita pouted but nodded with a sigh, "Yes, Daddy."
