POV Count Winters***
As I finished reading the letter in my hand with the royal family's seal on it I leaned back on my office chair placing the letter on my wooden desk staring at the bookshelf that's placed behind me.
'What is happening within the kingdom that the king has ordered all nobles to the royal capital.. I don't like this feeling.' I thought to myself as I stood up walking towards the golden door that separates my office and the hallway, passing by the golden trim decorating my office that match the rest of the mansion and the white walls that makes a noble contrast.
Heading towards the main hall I call my wife, concubine and three sons to tell them I'll be heading to the capital in a few days and to make sure the pests in the guest house don't notice.
"Why do you care what that bitch and lowly son think?" My first wife replied with a disgusted look on her face.
"Ya they aren't even worth mentioning" my first concubine says as she looks at her nails on her outstretched hand.
"I don't want her contacting her family and snooping around" I sternly replied while walking towards my sons.
"Make sure to get stronger and train hard while I'm away" I said to them as I left walking back to my office needing to clear my head.
Three days past and I am now in my carage arriving at the Royal captial. White bricks are placed forming 15 meter tall walls all around the city while those same bricks are placed making the roads and buildings to look Uniform and elegant.
'Arriving infront of the royal palace that screams noblity and taking up the size of a town the door opens standing in front of me is a royal guardsmen.
"It is an honour to see you Count Winters, please follow me to the throne room where all nobles will meet and hear his majesty's words" the gaurd said to me as he bowed slightly.
Staring a the guard I felt rage build up inside me as I thought 'how dare this lowly worm think he can converse with me. Once I finally kill this stupid king I'll show everyone how great I am and how revered I should be. This scum should be knot towing begging to be able to be in my presence and should be executed along with his family for this disgusting disrespecting display."
Trying to push down the rage ignited within me, I arrived in the huge throne room with golden trim and a golden throne to match it. Leading up to the throne was a wide red carpet on the white brick floors and pillars throughout the room with arches supporting the enormous palace. The ceiling higher than 20 meters and a golden dragon statue suspended in the air.
Taking my place in the lines of men on each side of the carpet from the highest rank closest to the throne to lowest closer to the door we stood tall, waiting for the king to make his entrance.
"Attention! His majesty King pendragon is entering!" A Royal guard opening the door announced.
All nobles kneeled before the king even count winters though reluctant he was, he is still powerless against the king and royal family… for now.
A 6 feet tall man with short blond hair and beard with sharp blue eyes walked down the red carpet wearing white noble clothing with golden accents and a dragon pendent attaching each side of his white royal mantle (cloak) that went down stoping at behind his knees, with a giant golden dragon that showed it looking upwards stitched onto it.
Have a golden crown resting atop his head he reached the throne and sat down, his voice echoed throughout the throne room filled with authority and confidence.
"You may stand. I am sure you are all eager to find out the reason for me calling all of you to the captail so urgently. I shall not leave you in suspense any longer… our neighbouring kingdom, Ruil Kingdom to be exact, that boarders on our south east is making strange moves."
Whispers flooded the room while a duke suddenly spoke up.
"My king, if I may ask. What is it that they are exactly doing? The Great War where many of us here today personally fought in, only happened a few decades ago. Also if memory serves me right, they took more damage and casualties than us. Why would they start moving again?"
"We have gathered reports that the demons from the far east kingdom Diablo have joined forces to try and take our lands. They are already moving towards the boards and I fear with the strength of both kingdoms against us this war will be much more difficult than the past one." The king revealed.
Audible gasps could be heard throughout the room while the anxiety levels could be physical felt soaring as each an every noble grew weary, remembering the horror of the Great War and the loses and battles they personally went through and fought.
Paled faced became common in that room while sly smirks could also be seen on a few nobles, whether it was from their blood thirst raising ready to be unleashed again after so long, their aspirations on leveraging this impending war for personal gain and profits, or for some other reason no one could tell. But one this was for sure, this kingdom will not seem to continue living in the feeble illusion called peace for much longer.
