Bernard's face darkened as he remembered Felix talking with his comrades. Their intentions was very clear. They are going to escape, they are living him.
"It w-was fo…r y-our o-wn g-ood…" Felix tried to retaliate but received again another blow.
"YOU ABANDONED ME!" Bernard's voice echoed in the huge hall. "I look up to you with hopes that together we could escape, one day. I treated you as a brother!" he paused, and laughed like crazy. "Ha! I even forgot you abandoned you very own bother, you, shameless fool!"
Tears rolled like river on Felix face. The mere mention of his brother, whose entire family was massacred. Bernard knew nothing about the truth. He has no idea what really happened to Macario.
Bernard was going to attack Felix once more when he heard the words he had been longing to hear for a very long time.
"I'm sorry… I failed you." Felix uttered.
Bernard stopped midway and put down his hand.
