Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 (My first possession?)

Slowly his eyes opened.

He saw a wooden ceiling above him with light streaming in through a window. He heard a small gasp from his right and looked to see a middle aged woman sitting in a chair.

"Hela, can you hear me?" the woman said.

What? Hela? He glanced around and saw he was in a bed. Glancing down he saw two large mounds rising on his chest.

"What's happening?" he whispered with a waking voice that wasn't his own. Shocked he noticed it was a female voice emanating from his mouth. He heard a small sigh to his right and looked to see the older woman with tears in her eyes.

"We were so worried. Dear come here! Hela is awake!" she yelled toward the door. Then a large man walked through the doorway.

"Oh thank the 13 heavens you're ok. You had nasty fit when we went to check the disturbance." the large man said.

"Are you feeling alright?" the older woman asked.

Still disoriented by the events unfolding around him he whispered "Where am I?"

Concern raced around both their faces as they exchanged a look. "Why you're in your bed at home silly." the older woman said.

Damien shakily moved to sit up and glanced at both of them. Then he heard a voice that sounded vaguely robotic say:

"Experience threshold reached. Memory Acquisition Lv 1 acquired. Body Control Lv 1 acquired. Soul Domination Lv 1 acquired."

"What?" he thought before a flood of information assaulted him. Memories, memories of Hela's life. She had grown up here with her parents Gregor and Velka, along with her little brother Jager. The village they lived in was called Helmas in a kingdom called Aquilon. She didn't know much about the surrounding kingdom as villagers rarely came into contact with more than one or two merchants a year, with a sprinkling of adventures looking to make their names known and fight monsters that occasionally threatened the village.

"Kingdoms? Monsters and adventures?" he thought. "This sounds crazy, just where did that god send me?"

Thinking quickly on his newfound memories Damien/Hela turned toward her parents and said "I'm alright, I was just shocked by the body we found. It was a horrible thing to see."

At that her parents visibly relaxed. "Of course it was." Gregor said. "I told you to stay back at the house. One of these days you'll start listening to me girl."

"I'm sorry father." Hela replied. "If you're alright with it I'd like to get some fresh air"

"Of course you can, you still have some chores to do but that can wait till tomorrow. We know it has been a strange day."

"Oh father? What happened to the body?"

"It's been burned. Wouldn't want it to rise up. Not that it could do much in that state but just to be safe." her father replied.

"Oh no." she thought. "I was hoping to.... wait rise up? My memories must be incomplete because I don't remember anything about that."

Hela got up from the bed, a steady hand from her mother on her shoulder helping her rise. She looked down and saw a white blouse covering her rather large breasts. Looking up she saw she stood well short of her father and even with her mother. She walked outside and felt the breeze blowing up around her. Walking out into the field to explore her surroundings she felt a small tug in her gut.

"No" she involuntarily said. And she began to heave. As she heaved she felt less and less of her body, as if some other force was ripping back control of her.

"No!" she yelled. Her throat swelled unnaturally and then she puked. Damien was ripped from Hela's body and fell forward into a rather large pool of glowing blue vomit.

"Gross" Damien said. Looking back he saw Hela swaying and looking ill.

Standing up and trying to shake and wipe off what he assumed was Hela's dinner he looked over at her. To his surprise she was looking right at him.

"Who are you? What's going on?" she managed.

"You can see me?!" Damien replied excitedly.

His excitement was quickly dampened when she fell face first into the grass. It was at this moment her brother Jager exited the house to see his sister passed out. Jager ran right past Damien without noticing to shake his sister.

"Hela are you ok?!" he yelled, drawing the attention of their parents.

"Quickly get her inside, I knew something was wrong. Jager run for Healer Jorgen! Fast boy!" Gregor yelled as he scooped up Hela in his arms.

Damien stood by in shock. "Did I kill her?" his only thought. Guilt clouding his mind he followed Gregor into the house.
