LOUISA CORPORATIONS
Inside the conference room, the atmosphere was tense and everyone was shifting in their seats. One of the directors made a mistake in an important project, and now everyone was sweating buckets on his behalf.
The LOUISA CORPORATIONS is owned by Oldrich Cole's only grandson, Louise Cole.
It was first established while he was studying abroad, and then moved back to his Home country.
He was not popular as a cruel, aloof, or cold CEO, but when he gets angry, no one wants to get in his way.
Normally, he was polite and kind, and he smiled at his employees, but when someone crossed their boundaries, he is not the type to easily forgive or forget.
This director has been a source of trouble for him for a while now and the only reason he still wasn't kicked out was because of the project he was handling but now he ruined it. It was obvious that today was his last day with the company.
Louise stared at director Barr for a few minutes, but his expression did not reveal his thoughts. His brilliant blue eyes were calm and peaceful, with no ripples.
His handsome face was devoid of any negative emotion, and there was even a faint smile on the corner of his lips.
"Mr Barr I do not understand your explanation for the project's failure; did not you say you kept everything under wraps?" Louise inquired after a brief silence.
"I had everything right, but I do not understand how it went wrong," Mr Barr defended with an indignant expression on his face.
"So, how did you fail?" Louise leaned back in his seat and focused on the man. He was curious how he would come up with an excuse to save his neck. Mr Barr appeared speechless and did not know what to say.
Louise urged him to speak up, "You went above and beyond to secure this project, so why did it fail?"
"It was working fine until Eve Jones came along and ruined everything," Mr Barr said, glaring at the woman opposite him.
"You have been doing monkey business behind my back, and now you have dared to do it openly. How did Eve Jones ruin it? When you were actually collecting bribes everywhere," Louise snarled, causing everyone to sit upright in their seats.
Louise was not kidding with Mr Barr this time, and he has broken all forms of courtesy.
"Knorr," Louise called. His assistant approached and stood beside him.
"Make sure he leaves after paying everything he owes us, and make sure it covers the cost of all the problems," Louise said coldly.
"You can not do this, Mr. Cole." I am also a shareholder.
" Knorr, be quick about it," Louise stood up and walked out, leaving behind the ranting director, who continued to yell threats.
He entered his office and sat behind his table to complete some unfinished paperwork.
An hour later, Knorr entered with a huge grin on his face, his left hand in his pocket and the other holding his pad.
"What got you so excited?" Louise asked, his gaze fixed on his laptop. Knorr sat in front of him, leaning against the table.
"I just received very good news."
"Did Mr. Barr cough up all my money?" Louise deadpanned.
"Yes and even more," Knorr proudly exclaimed. It was a subtle sigh of satisfaction, assuring Louise that he was still the best assistant.
"What else?" If it is not meaningful, you can leave now because I am busy," Louise lowered his gaze back to his laptop and resumed work.
"This is why you do not have a girlfriend, Lu; all you do is work," Knorr tsked.
Louise gave him an uninterested look, and his hand pointed to the door, silently asking Knorr to leave.
"Alright alright," Knorr raised his hand in resignation, "I just received big news...Sonya Aquila has returned."
Louise's hands on the laptop paused as he looked up at Knorr.
"Do not be surprised," he laughed, "and guess what, I managed to make an appointment with the Pearl's hospital for counseling." Knorr boasted.
He had cut through the line with great effort and received the appointment. His smile was wide, and his inflated ego soared high above his head, through the roof.
Louise leaned on his chair, his expression unreadable, "Did I ask you to do that?"
Knorr's eyes lost their luster, and his face became less excited.
"Sianna does not need a doctor anymore; her teacher is doing an excellent job, and she is gradually improving." Louise added.
Knorr wanted to persuade him to change his mind, but he knew that once Louise made his decision, he would never change it.The guy was a bull head in every way; he refused to have a girlfriend or even get married, and no matter how much his grandfather insisted, he would not bulge. He sighed. "What a waste."
Sonya stepped out of her car, Infront of her house, and a sense of nostalgia hit her.
Her brown, wavy hair swayed in the gentle breeze. Her gray eyes shone like stars in the night sky, clear and bright. She smiled brightly, revealing the deep dimples on both sides of her cheeks.
Her home was exactly as she remembered it: peaceful, beautiful and harmonious.
She had always imagined herself returning home, to her familiar surroundings, and being surrounded by family.
Except for the simple renovation of the balcony, which was extended and redecorated, nothing else had changed in the Aquila mansion. The front garden was exactly as she it always was: tidy and beautiful. The gardener was indeed the best at his job, she commended in her heart.
The calm and serene environment, combined with the lack of activity, would lead a stranger to believe the house was vacant.
As she walked into the house, she noticed her mother approaching her with arms wide open and a rare smile on her face. Sonya smiled and ran to hug her. The warmth enveloped her and brought back memories.
"I missed you, baby girl," Avni sniffed. Her voice was filled with emotion.
Sonya drew away and stared at her mother, surprise on her face. Her mother was never emotional, so her reaction was puzzling. "Mom, are you okay? Why are you crying?" She inquired.
"I am not," Avni denied. "Come on, let us go inside."
As she walked in, she noticed the slight change. The interior of the house appeared more grandiose than the exterior, with an expensive and luxurious chandelier hanging in the living room and antique vases and paintings hanging on the walls.
Her family photo, which depicted all four generations, hung on the side of the room. Her great-grandmother, her grandfather, her parents, and Brenda.
'our efforts paid off' Sonya chuckled at the photo before taking her seat with her mother.
After settling in with a glass of juice and snacks, the mother and daughter got carried away with their conversation.
They were chatting and laughing loudly when a gasp of surprise caught their attention.
Sonya rolled her eyes internally when she saw her father standing in front of them, hands on his chest.
"You duped me," Henry exclaimed, indignantly.
"I didn't," Sonya laughed as she hugged her father. Henry wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her like a small child.
"Put her down, Henry," Avni scolded.
Sonya giggled like a young girl. She hugged her father's neck tighter and kissed his cheek.
Avni was displeased with Henry's actions and gave him a stern lecture.
Henry wanted to argue, but when he remembered her frosty eyes that morning when she saw the news, he decided not to. It would be ideal if she did not remember the morning event; that way, she could excuse their mistakes; however, if he provokes her through an argument, he will not fare well.
He hugged and apologized to his wife, wearing a flattering smile. "Do not you think it is time to celebrate now that Sonya is back?" Henry asked as he sat beside his wife.
"I already have that in mind; after all, she inherited mentor G's last technique, am I correct, Susu?"Avni asked.
Sonya nodded, "I am now prepared to fight for the Pearl's group. Do not worry, dad and mom, I will make sure the Pearls remain ours. It is our inheritance, and I will not allow anyone to take it away."
"We understand," Avni smiled, "it is just that we are sad to let you and Brenda take part in this battle..."
"This is our battle, mom," Sonya interrupted, "and if anyone thinks they can bully us, I will not allow it. This hospital was once owned by our ancestors and will continue to be owned by us." Sonya sat beside her mother and hugged her. Her voice was as hard as it could possibly be, and her heart was determined.
"I promise never to let us fall apart. The Sonya they knew is no longer here; I am stronger, more resilient, and more determined than ever."
Sonya's statement, combined with her determined expression, calmed Avni's anxious heart.
Although she did not know what the future held, she vowed to never let her children suffer for something they knew nothing about.
