The bright and yellow sun was shining across the blue sky above the Clover Kingdom. It's rays touched everything and everyone, and none could hide from it. The sun was at its most beautiful when it was above a quiet and quaint little village in the Forsaken Realm... That village was the Town of Missbrauch.
There was a small child, no more than the age of eight, skipping along the small lake that surrounded the village he lived in. As well as skipping himself, he skipped many small stones across the water in front of him, each time beating his high score the previous time. This kid was talented.
Due to his fun-loving nature, he loved to sing and hum to himself any songs that he would hear, and the source of the singing was his elder sister. The one he respected and loved the most was the source and inspiration for his own singing.
With a bright and beaming smile, the small eight-year-old child had set out in the afternoon and raced along the lake coast to try and find a certain gift for his loving sister, as a thank you to her for being so great. His ginger hair rustled against the light breeze that swept through the Realm and his fair and sun-kissed skin became a bit cold due to the fact.
"Now, where can I find some of those...". The child looked around with his bright blue eyes, scanning the environment for a few minutes before spotting what he had set out to find. He walked slowly towards the target and bent down to pick them up. The gift he was looking for were flowers. He loved the sight of them and made him feel happy and calm when he looked at them.
The eight-year-old child wore a dark blue and long-sleeved shirt that was just a tad too long for him. The clothing went just past his wrists causing him to look a bit smaller than he already was. Alongside this, he wore a short pair of black trousers that stopped just below his knees and he ended his attire off with a pair of brown boots that covered his feet and the rest of the gap between his trousers and feet.
He bent down to pick the flowers up. "Haha! Finally, I found them... I bet Big Sis will love these. I think they're called... Blue Irises! Wow, they even have the same name as Big Sis, haha!" The child laughed and giggled with a face full of positivity and happiness. He used his little flower encyclopaedia to determine what the flower was. This information book was gifted to him for his fifth birthday from Iris, his sister, and he had taken great care to treasure it ever since.
The wind suddenly picked up in speed and started to blow against the child as he ran back to the Church that he lived at. All of a sudden, due to his clumsy nature, his right foot clashed against a little crack on the grassy floor making him trip and let go of the Blue Irises. The ginger-haired kid looked up as he brushed the dirt and dust off of his clothes to see the flowers he had gone to pick for his Big Sis, ruined. The flowers' blue petals had swayed alongside the wind and all that was left was the bright green stem.
"N-no..." the child stared at the lifeless gift he had try to bring back. He started to cry and hiccup at not being careful, and he was mad at himself for being too clumsy. "I... I w-wish I could have these flowers b-back... but I can't do anything with my m-magic...". The little boy brought the dead flowers to his chest and kissed them. He closed his eyes and cried, but as he did a bright blue light started to shine from his already blue eyes as well as the palm of his right hand. It only lasted for a second but as he looked at the broken flowers once more... they were repaired. The Blue Irises were back and as good as new.
Wiping his tears, he tried to analyse what had just happened. "The f-flowers are back...! Does this mean I have another type of m-magic?" he looked around to see if anyone had seen what happened, and they did not. He got up once more and, with stars in his eyes, he started to run towards the Church. "Mother and the Father will not believe this! They will be so happy!" He giggled. He finally got back to the Church as the sun had started to set in the horizon.
The child looked up at the Church. The building looked to be fairly well looked after. There were no breakages or cracks anywhere on the outside, even though this was the Forsaken Realm. If there was someone to thank for looking after the building, it would be Big Sister Iris, who was a very hard worker. "She'll love these flowers... but first!" the child smiled with his teeth showing and he entered the building in a rush.
"Mother, Father! I have something cool to show you!" the child bounced up and down around the room he entered. He was running all over with his two arms outwards, imitating as if he was a bird flying through the sky.
"Yes, yes... what is it, Lucas?" A woman in her 40's opened the door that lead into the entrance room. She was fair-skinned and had a tall stature to her. Her purple eyes looked towards the little boy who had just ran in and wondered what the commotion was all about. She walked towards him as her dark-brown hair stayed in place as a bun on top of her head. Her clothing consisted of a black dress with a white blouse underneath it, coupled with a white apron just over it.
"L-Look here, lookie lookie!" Lucas showed the Blue Irises to the Mother and she put out a smile.
"Wow Lucas, are these for me?" She reached out for them but was denied by an excited Lucas.
"Noooo, these are for Big Sis. Silly, haha! I'm going to give them to her when she comes back from her friend's sleepover". He stuck his tongue out in a teasing way to which the Mother just laughed at.
"Awww... well, what is it that you wanted to show your Father and I?" she wondered, her hand scratching her chin in confusion.
"This!" Lucas plucked the petals gently, one-by-one, until they were the same state as when he fell over.
The Mother was confused at these turn of events. She was about to ask the reasoning behind breaking the flower but instead a blue light started shining in front of her.
Lucas brought the dead flowers to his chest and looked towards them in the same way he did before. His eyes started glowing an even brighter blue colour as well as his right hand's palm. He breathed in and exhaled and as he showed off the repaired Blue Irises to Mother, she was silent.
"Well, what do you think? Time Magic, I think it is! It is different from my other magic, but I hear one of the Magic Knight Captains has something similar to me... so it must be cool, huh?" Lucas jumped up and down and closed in on Mother for a hug.
That was his mistake...
Instead of a warm embrace that the small child had expected, he was met with an ear-splitting scream from the woman in front of her. He covered his ears immediately and wondered what was wrong. The scream was intense and eerie, as if was a response to something scary and dangerous. The walls and glass in the windows started to shake ever so slightly.
"Wh-what's wrong?" Lucas asked with tears in his eyes, he was confused whether he had done something wrong.
The Mother walked up towards Lucas and bent down to level with the small child's height. Instead of an embrace that Lucas was expecting, his cheek became immediately bruised. His face was met with an intense slap at full force, which left a mark on his right cheek. Mother's little finger became caught on Lucas' watering eyelid and without even pausing to assess the situation, the Mother quickly removed her hand and the eyelid was slightly split, causing it to bleed.
The ginger-haired child started to scream and cry as he held on to his right cheek and his injured eye. So many thoughts were going across his mind but none of them made sense.
"Doesn't Mother love me?"
"Why was I slapped?"
"Did I do something wrong?"
In the midst of all the commotion, the Father rushed downstairs and saw the aftermath of what had happened. Upon questioning of the situation, even he brought out the anger and disgust towards Lucas, slapping him as well.
Lucas stumbled backwards and to add to his pain, his back hit the corner of the wooden table that the family used to eat on. The sharp corner dug into the child's back cutting into the skin and flesh in the process before Lucas jumped and retreated into a corner.
Two, huge adults were towering over him and staring into his watery blue eyes, now becoming bloodshot. He whimpered and sobbed.
"How does he have two magical attributes?"
"This cannot be possible!"
"Do you think he's from the Diamond Kingdom? There's rumours that they experiment on children!"
"No, if that was the case, he wouldn't have been left here as a baby eight years ago!"
These were the sort of conversations that started to plague the Church. Instead of happiness and excitement at Lucas' Time Magic, it was abuse and hatred towards the orphan they had taken in all those years ago.
"What are people going to think about us..."
"I thought, with his other magical attribute, he could make us rich but now..."
"Yes, he's too much of a hazard to be of any use..."
A revelation was out. It shook Lucas to the core of his very being. The child was just an object for future glory for these people. They never really loved him, they just acted as if they did to use his magical attribute to their own advantage, but now, it seemed like Lucas was useless in their plans. They say a if a mage with a Four-Leaf Grimoire is met with a feeling of utter despair, the grimoire turns into a Five-Leaf. Well, this would have probably happened with Lucas if he had one during this incident.
Lucas cowered in the corner, defenceless. He couldn't even use his magical attributes to help in this situation as he had never even trained with them in the first place. His blue eyes looked up and saw the two figures he had come to love, now looking menacingly at him. They were now dark silhouettes in his eyes with no facial features anymore. They were monsters.
The night continued with slaps and kicks to the little child and he couldn't put up a fight. He managed to open his right eye in the midst of all the chaos and saw, on the floor, something that symbolised the state he was in.
The Blue Irises... broken and torn apart.
