The Drone employed a surprising and novel tactic, first approaching the Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer unnoticed by traveling underwater, then surfacing and launching Missiles at the Destroyer from extremely low altitude. Because the Drone's method of attack was so peculiar, the Destroyer's Defense System was powerless against it. This manner of attack was somewhat akin to pressing a Pistol against an enemy's temple and firing; none of the enemy's countermeasures were effective.
The AGM-114 Hellfire Missile flew swiftly, striking the waterline on the side of the Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer. A violent explosion ensued, followed by a thunderous "boom." Once the smoke from the explosion had cleared, the Drone could see that the Hull of the Destroyer had only a small dent to show for it; even the enhanced AGM-114 Hellfire Missile couldn't breach its defenses.
