When the first monster was annihilated, its kin roaming the city and spreading fear were immediately stimulated. They turned their gazes toward Modo's location, releasing excited, brutal hisses. For a moment, the only echoes in the human-built city were those of the monsters' voices.

The man wearing weapons crafted from ancient dragon scales let out a louder cry in response to the city monsters' roars. He had gained the Dragon Power, but it also eroded him, infusing him with the pride characteristic of dragons and the Red Dragon's volatility.

All the monsters in the city charged toward Modo's location because he was now the only resister in the entire city. The rest of the residents had lost the will to resist and could only pray helplessly, then provide the monsters with the power of their fear.
