The argument up front didn't last very long, and soon a driver went over to mediate. Of course, it was the driver we've heard of, who eventually compromised. However, the two collecting the fee were not happy, "No, the fine is at least two hundred!"
The driver was displeased again, "Why is it only twenty for everyone else but two hundred for me?"
"Why don't you understand why by yourself?" The fee collector sneered. "Keep arguing, and the price will increase."
After all the arguing, like an arm unable to twist a leg, the driver still ended up handing over two hundred to drive off.
The drivers behind him all obediently lined up, paid the money, and drove off. In reality, this was not common, but almost every driver who often traveled that road had encountered it. Drivers would say, "people stand by the roadside in the middle of the night, not easy to fulfill their tasks, just twenty yuan, don't be stingy!"
