By the time Yan Fei escorted the two drenched cattle thieves into the town, it was already daylight.
It wasn't that the thieves were deliberately wasting time, they were genuinely exhausted. At first, they would hasten their pace whenever Yan Fei shot them with his small water gun, but they eventually became unmoved by it, allowing the water to drench them without any reaction.
There were already quite a few early risers in town. Yan Fei paraded with the thieves through the streets, answering questions with a cheerful smile, intentionally allowing more people to recognize the two culprits.
Upon arriving at the entrance of the police station, the two cattle thieves seemed to recover a bit of their vitality. They didn't need Yan Fei to herd them anymore and bolted into the courtyard. Seeing the policemen in the yard, they weakly yelled, "We are cattle thieves, we want to confess..."
