Behind the library of the Provincial University Law School, there's a small garden, famous among the local schools. The reason for its renown is two trees that have grown together, poetically dubbed the "Mandarin Duck Tree".
In reality, they are just two regular Chinese Scholar Trees that happened to grow together. Over time, they melded into one. Though such trees can be found all over the country, the fact that they can be found in a university makes them especially admirable and popular as love metaphors among the students. These two trees have indeed stood for a hundred years.
One morning, the girls from Xu Xing's dormitory managed to seize this spot. They managed to secure the spot after their morning classes. They only claimed the spot during the day, as it was considered improper to do so at night. Even the students passing by at night would often take a detour to avoid disturbing the romantic atmosphere of the place.
