"Phew, finally rescued," Pannis said with a face full of grievance as he blew on the bite marks remaining on his hand. "I was almost bitten off by that little dummy. Puff puff, it hurt so much, I almost bled."
A few minutes earlier, Catherine had picked up the fragile-bodied skeletal Little Deer with a face of utter despair. The little skeleton was just being mischievous, really quite obedient. Without needing Catherine's persuasion, it had released its grip, allowing the knight girl to pick it up, and not forgetting to promptly take back its skull and place it on its neck, clacking its lower jaw and laughing happily. Annie, who was nearby, saw this and immediately circled around Pannis's head, floating towards Catherine with an expectant face and open arms. With a wry smile, Catherine used her other hand to pick up Annie, and looking at both little Undead chattering away about who knows what in her arms, she could only sigh that her life had become more and more exciting.
