The five individuals present were all taken aback. In the four thousand meter deep seabed, inside a shipwreck that had been silent for thousands of years, in a pitch-black environment, the bodies of the Undead floated all around, and even the surrounding seawater was suffused with the smell of rotting corpses. In such a space, suddenly seeing things moving from an unknown corner without any sign would be a distressing encounter for anybody.
Both Pannis and Catherine were startled too. Thankfully, Pannis had noticed the change in the surrounding water a second or two before the others, providing her with some mental preparation, but the others didn't have this advantage until they heard Pannis's voice and turned their attention to the suddenly appearing shadows.
