It was hard to describe what exactly those things were. Generally speaking, they were merely clumps of shadows without any form or height, existing solely as flat entities on the ground. Any object on the ground could effortlessly pass through them as if they didn't exist at all. As for the shape of the shadows, that too was indescribable because they constantly changed, like a blob of mud being continuously kneaded, always ready to change their shape—elongated, circular, elliptical, polygonal, and countless other shapes too difficult to name. Sometimes, they resembled a person, at other times an animal, but most often they resembled nothing at all, just a jumbled mess of distorted shadows.
"Is this what you mentioned before we came in?" Catherine quickly stepped forward, positioning everyone behind her, with Falcon Shield facing the direction of these shadows and her back to Pannis she asked, "Is this what Twisted Souls look like?"
