It's no wonder the undead mages were anxious, since they found that their magic was utterly useless. The spells that were usually so dangerous and evil, capable of tormenting humans to death, had no effect whatsoever on the beetles.
These beetles were simply energy forms and were completely unaffected by their attacks. Instead, their magic was easily devoured by the beetles, eventually becoming the energy that allowed them to reproduce and multiply.
Two fifth-tier mages had no choice, with few offensive spells useless, they could only resort to their sole defense spell. A hazy mist-like defence enveloped them. The attacking beetles would slowly be corroded. However, before being corroded, the beetles would also consume a substantial amount of magic power.
Meanwhile, a few fifth-tier undead creatures rushed over and began attacking the surrounding beetles.
