On one hand, he was individually stronger than any of them, and it was a kind of ambush, which helped. Moreover, they didn't understand his methods and had let their guard down, thinking he was one of their own. Lastly, they were not at their peak condition as they had spent much of their energy on summoning and backlash; otherwise, killing even one would not have been easy.
After reaching the fourth tier, even with native beings, general methods were difficult to employ.
