Since the protective amulet also increased defense and overlapped without adding value, whereas the Black Ant Amulet, though slightly lesser in quality, increased her own strength, which was still somewhat useful.
Lin Yushi, however, swapped out her Black Ant Amulet and kept the Ant Power Locket Amulet. The slight increase in strength provided by the Black Ant Amulet was trivial for them.
