This black matter was reeking with a horrible smell, and within it, you could see undigested traces of food. There were leaves, fruits, and even some remnants of insects. Perhaps his assumption was wrong, this giant beast was not a herbivore, but rather omnivorous. It would eat plants if it came across them and would not hesitate to devour bugs as well.
Thankfully he reacted quickly. If this substance had adhered to him, it would have been unbearable.
He couldn't even begin to guess what this stuff was. If it stuck to him and couldn't be washed off, that would be annoying.
