A sound of flesh being pierced echoed in the air. The slender figure of the woman was skewered by a long spear, its enormous force propelling her across several yards, leaving her nailed dead to the earth.
"Ah Mu.....Ah Mu..."
Little Que'er, having been pushed to safety by his mother in the nick of time, rolled aside, narrowly escaping the fatal thrust of the spear. However, in just the blink of an eye, the mother and child were now parted by the veil of life and death.
Ignoring the dizziness caused by the rugged mountain path, Que'er crawled and tumbled towards his mother, who was suspended mid-air, skewered by the spear.
There in front of him, a frail figure hung from the spear, it had harshly pierced through her weak body. The concern on her emaciated face, for her child's safety, was frozen at that moment. On her exposed arm, a deep green scar still remained.
