Inside Martin Bahati's house.
He was in deep sleep, utterly unaware of the figure standing beside his bed, watching him.
The time hit midnight.
"Bang Bang Bang..."
Three knocks echoed loudly in his room, jolting Martin Bahati awake like a thunderclap.
His sleep was always light, easily disturbed by the slightest noise. Perhaps it was a habit ingrained from years of living in the jungle, a highly chaotic place rife with bandits and fierce predators. One careless moment and you could die without even knowing how.
Martin Bahati snapped his eyes open.
The room was still dark, with only the dim moonlight filtering through, and the sounds of the night insects drifted in from outside. It was just as it always was.
It seems it was his noise that made him wake up.
