By the time Tang Qing reached home,
all three families had already gathered. The mothers were busily preparing in the kitchen, and the men were chatting in the living room - but their voices were not nearly as lively as the bustling in the kitchen. Seeing Lin Jiaxue, Qin Shiqi rushed over for a hug. Being about the same height as Lin Jiaxue and also a girl, she wouldn't dare to hang around idly.
After a few chatty words, Qin Shiqi whisked Lin Jiaxue off to their room, shut the door and whispered in hushed tones.
"You little rascal, you must have had fun this time," Tang's father looked at his son, his face never ceasing to smile. Indeed, Tang Qing had lived up to his expectations and became the top scorer of the National College Entrance Examination in their region, bringing glory to their ancestors. If Tang Qing had been around, they would have already brought him to pay respects to their ancestors.
