Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Kill with a Borrowed Knife

"Perhaps I can make use of these players," thought NPC, leveraging them against their Beastman Clan. Similarly, while Zhou Tian was troubled by the difficulty of dealing with these players, a new idea suddenly emerged in his mind.

"Kill with a borrowed knife!" This thought filled Zhou Tian's mind as soon as it was conceived.

In a player's perspective, monsters are merely data that reappear after being killed for a while. If there exists any difference between monsters, it's probably that if the Big Boss is fought too frequently, their strength weakens over time.

However, from Zhou Tian's point of view, the situation becomes entirely different. The reason why players are unable to eliminate all monsters is not because the monsters resurrect; it's because the monsters that are killed aren't the same. The weakening strength of the Big Boss is due to players killing them continuously, leaving no sufficient time for a new Big Boss to grow.

The reason for Zhou Tian's current idea primarily lies in the opportunity created within the actions performed by these players in a single day.

Initially, Zhou Tian gained the attention of the Blood Moon Lord and made continuous breakthroughs due to his numerous significant accomplishments. Despite his short time as a Beastman Warrior, he is indeed one of the strongest amongst them. However, some Beastman Warriors who have existed longer than him still surpass him in both merit and strength. Unless Zhou Tian is transferred, it will be tough for him to replace the Beastman Chief, given their existence.

Yet, with numerous players entering due to the actions of the NPCs, several of the more powerful and experienced Beastman Warriors, who were above Zhou Tian, were killed by these players. This situation caught Zhou Tian's attention.

Though establishing strength and surpassing other Beastman Warriors are the most orthodox methods of promotion, Zhou Tian found these methods to be not only difficult but also filled with uncertainties. In contrast, altering the situation makes things simpler.

For instance, if all the Beastman Warriors and Beastman Chiefs who are stronger than Zhou Tian were wiped out, it wouldn't be a challenge for Zhou Tian to become the Beastman Clan Chief!

Of course, such actions, even in the Monster World, are quite taboo. If it were to be exposed, even the Blood Moon Lord wouldn't spare him.

Yet, deep in Zhou Tian's heart, there was a strong feeling of being able to pull off that act. After all, despite the Blood Moon Lord's vast influence, he can't possibly control every action of his subordinates. Monster's familiarity with their own forces mostly comes from their position's authority. Therefore, as long as Zhou Tian is careful not to leave any obvious trail, it's doubtful that anyone will discover his actions.

"Just do it." Zhou Tian had a natural inclination towards cunning methods rather than standard ones for promotion. After calculating the success rate of his plans, Zhou Tian made his final decision.

Had it been any other day, it would have been exceptionally challenging for Zhou Tian to plot against other Beastman Warriors. However, given the current situation of their Beastman Clan, Zhou Tian's actions weren't difficult at all.

Even without Zhou Tian's intervention, numerous Beastman Warriors had already been killed by players on the first day alone. Under such circumstances, Zhou Tian didn't need to do much; he simply had to lead the players along, ensuring they could find the hiding Beastman Warriors. In turn, the Beastman Warriors that Zhou Tian wished dead would naturally fall by these player's hands.

On the second day, under Zhou Tian's arrangements, almost all of the threatening Beastman Warriors were killed. After this, Zhou Tian did not arouse any suspicion among the others, as the Monster World, by nature, is a simple place and the occurrence of monsters harbouring intentions like Zhou Tian is quite rare.

Thus, seeing everything going smoothly, Zhou Tian could hardly wait to act against the Beastman Chief on the third day.

Nonetheless, compared to his actions against the Beastman Warriors, Zhou Tian contemplated more on dealing with the Beastman Chief.

Every monster race has a Big Boss, but this isn't too apparent in the game. Players only know that defeating the Boss results in big loot. The only challenge is finding them, but for the powerful players, these Big Bosses are essentially their equipment vending machines.

However, the position of the Big Boss within its race is far beyond what players can imagine.

Simply put, if a monster race is considered a country, the Big Boss is essentially an invincible emperor. This reveals the astonishing authority these Big Bosses hold.

Without sugarcoating it, should the Beastman Leader ever face danger, at his command, all members of the Beastman Tribe must rally to his location to rescue him. This action is enforced by authority skills, and even Zhou Tian might be unable to resist this involuntary response.

The reason players can take on the Big Boss without dealing with the majority of the monsters is due to certain game restrictions. If NPCs were to march into battle, unless they wipe out most of the monster race, they might not even get a glimpse of the Boss.

With this in mind, when Zhou Tian plots against the Beastman Leader, it's only natural he takes into account the opponent's abilities. Otherwise, if Zhou Tian puts the Beastman Leader in danger, he might end up in hot water due to the leader's command.

Therefore, to defeat the Beastman Leader, ordinary players are mostly useless. Firstly, a newbie would struggle against the Beastman Leader, and secondly, if the fight drags on for too long, Zhou Tian might also be compelled to rush over and 'protect' the leader.

Hence, dealing with the Beastman Leader is fundamentally no different from dealing with the Beastman Warriors, but the players Zhou Tian can exploit are only the advanced ones, with no expectations from the newbies.

After having this idea, Zhou Tian proceeds carefully.

Considering the current situation in the Beastman living area, there are plenty of players, but high-level ones are rare. Therefore, finding his targets involves some risk and difficulty finding suitable players.

However, regardless of the difficulty, Zhou Tian still has to do it. As for how to find advanced players, he already has a plan.

Players are selfish, Zhou Tian understands this very well. Therefore, if he stirs up a commotion, he would naturally draw countless players. But if the disturbance is small and only known by one or two people, that news wouldn't spread easily.

Places where there are game glitches or locations to farm Bosses, information that only a few people know about, are exploited over and over until there's an accident or it's worthless, after which the information gets leaked.

Therefore, to deal with the Beastman Leader, Zhou Tian simply needs to let one or two players who appear to be alt accounts or carried players know the position of the Beastman Leader.

Although the Beastman Leader's level isn't high, as the ultimate Boss of the Beastman Clan, there's a chance it will drop a small piece of rare equipment when defeated. This is somewhat appealing to players whose levels aren't excessively high.

Therefore, with a plan in mind, Zhou Tian is confident his scheme will succeed.
