By noon, the scorching sun made it seem like Tokyo was being steamed in a pot. Without electricity, there were no cooling devices, and citizens were drenched in sweat, as though they were about to melt away.
"Are you hungry?" Tang Zheng, in tow with Cheng Cheng, was hunting between two patrol districts; most of the people they came across were young. They seemed to be unaffected by the power outage, even enjoying the city without electricity all the more.
"Not hungry." Cheng Cheng shook her head, not wanting to trouble Tang Zheng, but her gaze was inadvertently drawn to a sushi restaurant, denoted by a floating tuna balloon, just as her stomach started to rumble.
The little girl's cheek instantly turned red.
"Let's go eat sushi." Upon entering the sushi shop, Tang Zheng noticed it was filled to brim, and a wave of heat washed over him.
"Why are there so many people?" Three schoolgirls dressed in Fushima-oka uniforms walked in and couldn't help but frown.
