"Heh heh, Uncle, aren't you going to give them water?" Lu Fan tilted back his head, letting the chocolate fall into his mouth. After chewing it a few times, he said, "David and his group really are quite selfish."
"Perhaps there's not enough supplies," Jack replied. He didn't complain about the comment, and instead defended David, with a look on his face that suggested we should be understanding of others and not think the worst of them.
Tang Zheng and Lu Fan looked astonished at Jack's calm expression. After confirming he wasn't being sarcastic, both of them could feel a twitch at the corners of their mouths. Were they supposed to say this man was too straightforward? Or was he just stupid?
Nicole felt embarrassed at her father's 'idiotic behavior', burying her face in her hands.
