For some reason, Luo'er found the figure in front of him strangely familiar, but he couldn't place who it was. Dazed, Luo'er didn't fire his gun as he instinctively might have, but instead, with the muzzle still pointed at the man, slowly moved towards him.
The old man seemed to sense Luo'er's presence and slowly turned around to face him. Upon seeing the man's face, Luo'er's breath hitched. He stared wide-eyed, disbelieving at the person in front of him and unconsciously lowered his gun.
It was his grandfather, Luo Qishan— a relationship he was unwilling to admit. Despite Luo'er's repeated refusal to acknowledge Luo Qishan as his grandfather, when Luo'er looked into his eyes, he was overcome with fear. He couldn't shoot a family member, no matter the circumstance. This was a principle he had always held firm, for he didn't want to lose any more family members, even if they were estranged.
