After checking their gear, Luo'er and his team set out for the mansion as evening fell. The rain was unusually cold for this latitude. Though their clothes were waterproof, they still felt the icy chill seeping into their bones.
Luo'er exhaled into his clenched fist and signaled for the two behind him to follow. The rain had reduced visibility considerably, and in a few minutes, their sniper support would no longer be able to assist them. Their only option was to hasten their pace and infiltrate the mansion, locate the target, and complete the mission.
The three hunkered down outside the perimeter wall, which wasn't particularly high—a bit of running start would suffice to scale it. Their paramount concern, though, was avoiding detection. Luo'er watched the seconds tick away on his watch, calculating the guard patrol's timing.
