Leaning into Nina's embrace, Luo'er seemed to rally for a moment, suddenly extending his hand and wiping away the tears from his eyes before focusing his gaze on Nina, who was now sobbing as she held him. At this moment, he found an unexplainable strength; his wounds didn't hurt, and his consciousness began to clear up.
"Mom!" Luo'er called out to his mother who was within arm's reach. This long-lost call made Nina burst into tears once again.
"Luo'er, Mom is here!" Nina lowered her head, as she wiped away her tears and spoke.
"Mom, it hurts so much!" In front of Nina, Luo'er, like any ordinary human being, revealed his vulnerability for the first time. This might have totally been the last time as his voice abruptly cut off after he spoke. He stared at Nina with wide open eyes, his mouth slightly ajar, his pupils began to slightly dilate and his hand went limp.
