Luo'er was momentarily stunned, then looked in the direction Hu Daoke had pointed out. He realized that the Hunter Squad's carriage had come to a halt at some point, and following that, Murong—who was the captain of the squad—stepped off the carriage and strode directly towards them.
"What's he up to?" Hu Daoke couldn't help murmuring in Luo'er's ear when he saw Murong approaching them.
Luo'er was silent, merely watching as he approached. When he arrived, Luo'er saw him come to a halt before them and looked at Hu Daoke, then at Luo'er, before finally speaking with a smile, "May I take a ride on the horse?"
"You..." Hu Daoke was on the verge of a retort when Luo'er stealthily nudged him. He looked back to see Luo'er wave a hand, signaling him step aside.
Hu Daoke, always willing to follow Luo'er's guidance, glanced at him, then at Murong again before passing the reins of the horse behind him to Murong.
