"Mom, you must take care of yourself," Luo'er said worriedly.
"Don't worry, Mom will be fine. You have to believe in Mom," Nina said, squinting and smiling.
With that, Nina took Luo'er by the hand and led him downstairs, where the Elf guards beneath the treehouse had been replaced by Nina's people. They were now surrounding the group, facing outwards to keep watch.
By then, the sky had darkened, and due to the shielding of the Divine Wood, night fell earlier in Divine Wood Town. The quaint streets were nearly empty. The stone street lamps housed Magic Crystal Lamps powered by magic crystals, emitting a faint cold light.
Nina had procured a beautiful carriage decorated with the smooth, shining metal of Kedal. The carriage was pulled by an all-white horse.
