The man in black accurately aimed at Xiao Qiang's skull with his hand. However, much to his surprise, his palm seemed to hit nothing but air. The figure of Xiao Qiang, who had previously been stationary, became increasingly blurry until he completely disappeared from sight. Even with the sharp eyesight of the man in black, he failed to see how Xiao Qiang had disappeared.
Soon, he realised a crucial fact. The apparition he saw was not an afterimage left by Xiao Qiang running too fast, but merely an optical illusion, a hologram made of light and shadow.
Obviously, it was some sort of bizarre magic artifact used by Xiao Qiang.
He scanned the surroundings, and then threatened loudly, "Brat, show yourself, or I'll kill the girl from before!"
There was no answering sound. Huai Nanzi frowned and said, "Something's unusual here." He couldn't see that the figure of Xiao Qiang earlier wasn't a residual image caused by running away. He had only a vague sense of uneasiness.
