Dong Wen looked amazed and said guiltily, "Are you her brother-in-law?"
Miao Ke'er with rage on her face snapped, "What brother-in-law? You call him Mr. Xiao."
Dong Wen stuck out his tongue and chuckled, "Okay, I'll go see Miao Keran first."
As it turns out, Miao Ke'er's mother was Dong Wen's aunt. The Dong Family were indeed wealthy, but still much less well-off compared to the Miao Family. Coincidentally, Miao Keran's only friend throughout his life was Dong Wen, leading him to visit frequently. However, schoolwork had kept him busy these past few days and this was the first time he had managed to visit, only to stumble into this confusion.
Dong Wen was well-aware of Miao Keran's heroic act at the feast and was naturally curious to see what changes had been made to his normally timid cousin when this misunderstanding happened.
