The phone in her bag rang. She picked it up and after seeing the caller ID, answered, "Hello?"
"Have you given up yet?" The man's voice held a tone of frustration and sarcasm.
Or perhaps, it sounded more like self-mockery!
Han Qing pressed her lips together in silence.
"It seems so. A woman's stubbornness is really a problematic thing!"
"Don't you have your own stubbornness?"
In Han Qing's voice, a note of resentment and anger seeped through. She generally disliked being questioned and therefore had never used this tone with anyone.
Because it cuts deep.
"Cousin, I remember you once told me you had a woman deep in your heart. Even though you are thirty-two, have many women around you, but I have never seen you take any of them seriously... Are you holding out for that woman in your heart?"
